I was sitting back talking with my cousin (a mustang guy) and we were thinking: Do mustang people hate camaros more because of the chevy/ford rivalry, or ricers because their not american muscle but jap rice. Same question towards all of Camaro guys (n gals). I know i don't personally hate mustangs NEARLY as much as a civic with a coffee can on the back. At least mustangs have some decent power and V8's. (Refering to the GT's and above) And their styling ain't bad at all either. What do you all think? Please post you alls opinions and vote on the poll....

i dont hate them cause there fords, i got 3 fords and 2 chevys i dont care if they are rivals... i just hate the shape of a mustang its kinda gay, and for the fact i have been beating em with a stock camaro on the highway doesnt seem to make me like em more, but alot of the camaro guys hate mustangs cause they both are in the same price range and similar competitors, and i just seem to have grown up on camaros, the 80's ones were ugly as hell, the 90's were too and also right now, inculding the 2005 one, i have also hated the 60-70's cause if you compare em the 67's-02's just simply looked way better than the mustands did in 65-05 cmon look at it this way:
camaro 1st gen: really bad ass
camaro 2nd gen: nice style
camaro 3rd gen: not too nice but way way better than 80's mustangs
camaro 4th gen: fast, and really nice and still doesnt look old unlike the low 90's mustang

mustang 65-05: ugly as hell, to me they all seemed to look as ugly as the 80's mustang, the only ones i would get are shelby's they actually look good and are fast...

i dont hate any kindof car. if i come across a car that deserves respect i give it. doesnt matter if somebody rolls up in a 10 sec mustang or an 11 sec civic. if its fast, ill give it what its due. what i dont like, rather do enjoy cause they make me laugh, is the guys who put exhaust and a body kit on ANY car and think its the fastest thing in the world. i knew a guy who had a stock 3.4 camaro and i jumped his shit cause he was going around talkin down to guys with turbo civics and stuff, cars that he was slower than so i told him off. but if i had to name a rivalry i would say that its more sport compacts versus muscle/sports cars. all the guys runnin around in their I4 turbos or supercharged compact tuner cars versus the guys with eights and tens. ofcourse us sixer peeps are kindof in limbo...

I agree %100 percent.. I hate ricers with a passion.. They should all be cubed! I drive a Supra turbo and I dont think its a rice rocket at all.. and I'll argue that to the death! You cant call it a ricer because its japanease..

Look at what everyones doing with Sunfires and cavaliers now? They are all riced out.. But they're american.. are they still rice rockets? HELL YEAH!

My hatred for Mustangs comes from driving them and working on them.. BUt a part of it does belong to the Chevy-Ford rivalry.. Although there have been a few fords that we'd all love to own.. Im sure everyones familiar with Mr. Carol Shelby

most of my rivalry w/ mustangs is out of just poking fun... i know some are pretty damn fast. i have a buddy w/ one and we just make ford and chevy cracks all day long out of good fun. i don't hate mustangs, its just fun to try and beat them

I really have my older sister to thank for my love of Camaros especally my loyalty towards chevrolet. Not cause she ever owned one. Actually quite the opposite. She, the whole time we were growing up LOVED fords. So what did i do to that? Damn straight. I became a chevy guy. And so it began.... Now i just like to poke fun at Mustangs in good fun. Where i live all the mustang drivers are complet jerks, think they arre king due to the fact they spent lots of money on a car when in fact they get that king of the road thing going and race a camaro...in the end it comes to them either conteplating why he is such a jerk or of the camaro lost for some odd reason maybe a malfuction or what not. keeps him thinking hes king ....yeah...as i just said mustang owners are jerks...thats just my opinion though...and thats where i live, not sure anywhere else...

When it comes to other cars, I don't hate Mustangs, just that they are too common around here. At my high school of about 650 kids, and the 200 that can drive, there are about 25 Mustangs that show up everyday. They all think that the Mustang is great, and almost every family in my area owns one. My mom has one, it's a pink v6 auto convertible. I always talk crap to her about how my Camaro will smoke her Mustang. I'm one of about 4 people that drives a Camaro in my school.

Everyone in my school is into either Mustangs (mostly girls) or ricers (mostly normal guys) or trucks (rednecks). Almost all the guys in my class want a honda civic, or a cavalier. There's a guy in my class who's rich, and he has 2 cavaliers that have about 10K in them a piece, they have body kits, air ride, huge wings, all of it. The worst part is that he had a nissan 350z, and he took it back to get the second cavalier.

About half of the population of my school is rednecks, and they like to drive trucks. They don't drive trucks like everyone else, they drive trucks that are designed for offroad, rock climbing, deep mudhole running trucks. There was a guy last year that had his truck lifted so high that it was taller than the school buses.

Basically there's about a dozen guys at my school that are into American Muscle cars. In my group everyone else likes ricers or trucks, except me with my Camaro, and one of my friends has a 69 Chevelle SS with a 396.

yeah that is so true ,did u see how impossible it is to change tha alternator on a mid 90's civic, my uncles had to fix it and its like in the low middle of engine and you have to hit the surroundings with a hammer and stuff just to get to it... unlike the camaro just in the right part, and also a corolla , that shit is sooo retardedly built they put the 2 supporters right behind the fenders, so if someone hits you on the fender, it stabs the supporter into the engine, and the engine is gone, the prolly did that so its easier for them to sell an engine and dont want people fixing it...

one of the stupidest things about rice is that they put a body kit on it that has the shark fins on the fenders. BUT THEY NEVER PAINT IT!! its always a flat primer black with like a red hood. and then you got the ford focus- my GRANDMAS car, and they rice it out. one of my friends the other day was like "thats a sweet focus" .what the heck? its a focus station wagon with a body kit?

People around here (southern NM) like to make lowriders out of anything. And i mean anything. Ive seen older (like 80s) dodge caravans with knockout wheels and dark tent and stereo systems. I just don't get that. Yesterday i was over in Alamo and saw a like 96 or 97 RS that was covertable (dont know if it was originally a RS or if it was just GFX). Now get this... gold spoke, rollerskate-looking wheels pushed out like 5 inches and a Dark orange to bright yellow paint job from bottom to the top. And like silver tint. What a hideous piece of work. And it was in a dealer car lot. I don't get why people do that kind of stuff to a car. I mean you may like it and all and thats great or whatever but think of what that does to the the resale value! It goes down the shitter cause who else is going to want that and actually have the money to pay for it. ('round here alot of people would want it but NONE of them could afford it) I don't get that... Ive seen a simalar 3rd gen around over here too. Honestly, I've never seen a real american muscle car owner that fits that description. Now the hillbillies in their Ford trucks that are lifted 6ft off the ground are another story.

no im not saying my cavalier is fast. (speaking of which, anyone looking to buy a cavalier?) i totally agree with you guys about the rice with the universal wing is totally gay, but its not hard to have a import that runs 13s or faster for about 8 grand.

now you have to be careful in the words you use here. a fast "import" isnt hard, considering that includes everything from TT supras to porche 911 TT and all the exoctics. however, a fast "ricer" on 8 grand is not likely. given the general concensus on what a ricer is (the small displacement economy cars) i have never seen a 13 second car on 8 grand. kids round where i am a constantly droping 5 and 6 grand into their civics and preludes and those cars barely run 13 in the 1/8th, let alone the quarter...

i've seen an 11 sec civic hatch, turbo'd, don't know how much $$$ is dumped into it tho.

I try not to set off the Import vs Domestic war anymore, but stock I'd take a mustang(not a big fan of those 4 cylanders though) over a go-kart with an airplane wing on it anyday.

It think that it is simple.. Each car is practical for it's own purpose.. rice sucks.... I used to own an 89 Iroc camaro(which i dropped a 454 into).. and now I currently own a 94 t-bird (3.8L w/body kit, rims, spoiler, {not a wing!}) and an 89 supra turbo (all stock)... And i'll tell you guys this. You buy American for tried and true performance with sheer power coming out of a v8. You buy jap/korean(for all the tib owners) for power, which is a lot less, but not with the amount of engine displacement the american has, but thru effiency (gas saver). they both have their pros and cons, but i prefer using both styles.. American power+japanese efficency :screwy: = Very fast car! : My supra isn't a ricer, but rather a nice car that I can cruise in, and just enjoy with the targa off... My t-bird is "all show and no go" as it is a v6, but nonetheless, I enjoy it. what really annoys me is when ricers dont know their place, you don't take a civic, dump 5,000 into it and think you're hot stuff, because you have a DOHC VTEC and spray that engine for a whopping 175 hp. :loser: My t-bird puts out more.. the supra does way more... My old camaro.. well, you get the picture. :banghead: Also, sorry for the ranting.. but what is it with European car owners? I'm yea you paid wayyy to much for your Benz :screwy: , when it breaks down it's never covered by the 4/5 yr warranty, and costs a fortune.. i like camaros only cause my familys always been chevy, but i have to admit the 94-04 mustangs do look good and they are pretty fast, i actually prefer the 94-04 stangs over the early fourth gens(93-97) i just think how the front of the early 4th gens comes toa point is ugly, i much prefer the 98's on up
