LandoAWD 08-11-2004, 12:40 PM The sandpaper can be found at any hardware store (well, most anyways) and the Mothers stuff can be found at an autoparts shop. :) Edit: Before and after..total cost was about 8 bucks.http://dsmlife.com/gallery/data/500/168Image1-med.jpg hellah fresh 08-11-2004, 01:27 PM 1500 grit wetsand...2000 grit wetsand...Mother's Mag and Aluminum poish. LMAO lando the before pic looks photoshoped LandoAWD 08-11-2004, 01:38 PM No it wont fog it up more everyone does it that way. LMAO lando the before pic looks photoshoped Two different days and lighting conditions, but the best I could do. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58328 Raz_Kaz 08-11-2004, 02:19 PM I think I'll try that Side note, anyone know hoe the hell I can get a bulb outta the turn signal socket? LandoAWD 08-11-2004, 02:21 PM Twist and pull? Raz_Kaz 08-11-2004, 02:25 PM no no, the actually bulb is loose in there...I tried using a vacuum to suck it out, no luck LandoAWD 08-11-2004, 02:28 PM Lots of shaking? Break the bulb? Shit man, that is a tough one. Raz_Kaz 08-11-2004, 02:29 PM no, changed the blue bulbs with the amber ones. While in the process of replacing, one of the amber lights fell in, havent been able to take it out since.... george536 08-11-2004, 02:41 PM ur gonna probably have to take the whole headlight off. and then get it out. if you really want it out. LandoAWD 08-11-2004, 02:44 PM That is wierd. I didn't think the whole thing could even fit throught the socket. Is this on the corners or the headlight? Raz_Kaz 08-11-2004, 03:10 PM LandoAWD 08-11-2004, 03:17 PM OUCH! I have seen threads about "baking" the headlights in an oven at 300 degrees to loosen the sealant...but I have no personal experience with this. ashah000 08-11-2004, 03:18 PM If the bulb has metal around the bottom.. use a magnetic pick up tool to get it. Raz_Kaz 08-11-2004, 03:20 PM I think it was plastic...Ive been driving around for a couple of months with it in there....I almost broke my hand trying to get it out, it doesnt bother me having in there, but I dont want a perfectly good bulb go to waste. Ah well...hey, anyone know of a vacuum qwith a flexible tube so it can twist and turn once inside the socket? ashah000 08-11-2004, 03:25 PM Use a claw pick up tool hellah fresh 08-11-2004, 05:02 PM Hey... there are only 3 screws to hold the headlights in right? I cant pull my headlights off of the car =\ Is there a 4th screw somewhere? MasterBraetec 08-11-2004, 08:49 PM I used rubbing compound and it worked hellah fresh 08-11-2004, 08:52 PM rubbing compound?? hmm ??? haha SSZero 08-12-2004, 01:27 AM Hey guys, what's the brand name of the cleaning stuff for the headlights? Mine are all foggy as well and I need the brand names of the cleaning stuff you guys mentioned earlier. Also, it's funny that you mentioned removing headlights and such since I just finished doing that like 2 hours ago. It was mad weird, I had to take the screws off of the side panel so the headlight could stick out a little. The only thing is, I only needed to change the turn signal and that's it. If you have to replace the whole headlight, you might have to pull out the black power cord that's behind it first... hellah fresh 08-12-2004, 01:37 AM hmm... I think i did that... its hard as hell to pull out the light 96spyderman 08-12-2004, 02:29 AM Try a product called NOVUS... use the #2 I work for a plastics company for 8+years and know for a fact that this will work better/easier than the wet sanding...goes on just like you would apply wax and then buff it off, repeat as needed... follow up with Novus #1 If you can't find any NOVUS let me know and I can sell ya some for cheap!! I used it on my Hlights and now they are crystal clear. If they are REALLY bad you might have to go with #3 but that is like steel wool scratched bad!!! cweezie 08-14-2004, 05:57 PM i had the same problem and i used some rubbing compound also. i tried wet sanding it but the rubbing compound is easier. i used a little buffer that i picked up at wal-mart for like 15 bucks. total cost was about 20 bucks it works mine look a lot better almost brand new BoostedSpyder 08-14-2004, 10:10 PM look at the page 2 of my cardomain [link in the sig] for a pretty detailed description of how to easily crack open the housings... Mram76 08-15-2004, 10:39 AM I Have The Same Problem My Headlight Are F**ked.. The Clear Coat Gone... I Am Going To Try Sand It It... I Tryed Glass And Plexglass Cleaner But It Didn't Work It Clean The Area With The Clear Coat Great....... 96spyderman 08-15-2004, 01:48 PM MRAM is right... the cleaner is just that A CLEANER If you can find NOVUS 2 It will work wonders and then use NOVUS1(cleaner) A quick tip...for fine scratches in paint(spiderwebs) you can use the NOVUS2 BUT you have to be careful!!!
