Well over the weekend i got bored and desided to paint my interior, i bought this one paint that is made to go on vinyl. I got a little lazy and didn't put a lair of before painting to make the paint stick onto the plastic, now the paint is kinda peeling off in some places, i'm thinking about either buying new pieces from a junkyard or try and scrape the paint off. It actually isn't too bad but my friend who was helping me painted in some places that meets alot of contact so the paint did start coming off, and the worst part is he painted the passanger side airbag cover, it looks pretty ugly and i think i'm just gonna buy a new piece to replace it, now the question is: how do i remove that airbag cover? and if i do remove it, will i trigger anything or deactivate anything? and if i wanted to remove the paint, anyone know how to do so incase i wanna trade the car in?

My only suggestion is to use a thinner made for that type of paint and lots of old rags but first try to peel all the loose stuff off first. I had similar problem but that was because I rushed a piece and didn't get all the armorall off... It's just gonna take a little patience and elbow grease... Qtips and/or detailing brush would probably help too...
Doesn't it suck to learn a lesson the hard way? lol Good luck. hope this helps.

Be careful with the thinner, it will make everything fade white. But then just goto town with the armorall and it will look fine.

For the airbag cover I painted mine with krylon fusion, and then clear coated it. It turned out perfect.. one of the best looking painted parts in my car

What else did you paint besides the airbag cover

Try some acetone, nail polish remover, or straight up paint thinner. If it were my car I would try to peel off as much as possible, then go to work with nail polish remover. Then, if that didn't work, hit up the junkyard ;)

Search there is a writeup by Littlegseclipse for the airbag. I would just paint some of the parts a different color if there is too much blue.
