Service Engine Light On

Having another problem with my 1999 Chevy Venture, The service engine light in on, Auto Zone check the code and told me to change the gas cap, done but the light is still on, Any Ideas??? Thanks for the help in advance. David

Its hard to tell without knowing what the codes actually were.

Did autozone reset the code? If not, it will take like 50 starts for the code to clear itself if that actually fixed the problem. I had to really haggle with autozone to get them to clear a code on my Montana, they said they are not supposed to do that anymore. Something about them being liable or something and it should only be done by a licensed mechanic or some BS like that. I said look, the only one who will ever pull wrenches on my van is me, so just reset the damn thing. They had to wait till there was no one left in the store before sending me out back with a guy to "secretly" press the reset button on the scan tool. Whats this world coming to....
Oh yah, you can also disconnect the negative battery terminal from the battery for a few minutes (if you can get to it) or pull the PCM fuse (I think thats the one, in the power control center under the hood on top of the battery). Just remember if you do this and have theft lock engaged on your radio that you know what the code is to disable it when power is restored, otherwise you'll be in for a trip to the dealer.

P0440 is the code.
