Reverse LightsPhilosopher 05-24-2001, 11:53 AM I posted some of this on XOC a while ago .. I bought some cheap-ass 'Blazer' driving lights with 55W bulbs at Trak Auto for $20 (full kit, wiring and switches included, which I didn't use) - wired them directly to the reverse lights and threw some PIAA 55 = 85W bulbs in them ... bright white light. Mounted them on my safari rack. REALLY lights up my spare tire nicely. :) Seriously, any light more than the stock reverse lights helps A LOT. I have some 100W bulbs that I bought at the same time for $6 a piece (!!) which I am going to put in them to see if they'll work at all (I have extra fuses for when it blows). :bonghitte For anyone who is thinking about mounting lights to the stock bumper: I had the stock fogs mounted on the bumper with the same bulbs in them but the beam pattern sucked (fogs obviously) - even when I turned them upside-down hoping to get some more light thrown upwards ... don't even try to mount lights on the bumper, it's too low to have good light throw. rhombus 05-24-2001, 09:17 PM That is something that I have wanted to add for a while. I cannot add anything on my roof (parking garage). I was thinking about just mounting some to the back of the roof rack. Did you get extra fuses because the 100w will blow them? Were the 55w not a problem? Philosopher 05-29-2001, 03:01 PM Originally posted by rhombus That is something that I have wanted to add for a while. I cannot add anything on my roof (parking garage). The 55 = 85W PIAA's are what I have in them ... when I tried just one of the 100W and one of the stock 55W bulbs, it immediately blew 2 fuses so I don't recommend going that route. :) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
