I need an exploded view on the rear axle to my S10 Blazer -98
especially on the piniong with bearings
Piniong was possible to move front and backwards and even a couple milimeters inside also.
When i removed the differential cover i found some pieces that was some kind of thin spacerwasher or something like that. I will replace the piniong bearings so I also need the torque specifications to the rear axle
I have been told that i should not use limited slip oil in axis is this right?
:screwy:

You probably better go to the local auto parts shop and find yourself a manual that has this or you can take it to the dealer with some options. I suppose you can pay for the dealer spec manual that would have all of this info and it's expensive but............it's also expensive is having the dealer perform this work. Otherwise, happy hunting for the info.

I bought bouth Chiltons and haynes repairmanualīs but itīs nothing about the piniong bearings in them :( and here in Sweden it loks like nowbody is god at the drivetrain on US cars.
After to have been driving Volvo in many years and after that tryed some German cars VW Audi and BMW who was totaly crap i find the Volvoīs good quality in Chevy im so far totaly satisfied with my Tahoe and Blazer now the Blazerīs milage is 210000Km i dount know what that is in miles and i have my self to blaim about the rear axis (to lack of service) i even dount have checked oil in it so far but now i have to pay.... :(
Hope somebody can help me with some info about my rear axis.

I think I may be able to help you. Are you able to find parts for it easily though?

I already have parts now in need to know all torque data for the 7.5"axis and how to get the right (flank contact) betven the ring-gear and piniong-gear. I guess that it should be a shim somewhere in pinion whwn i found some pieces after something like a thin shim?
Hope you understand what i try to explain in my swe-engl langue;)

Now i put everything together again and it works just perfect:) It was just impossible to find the data to this rear axis here in sweden (everybody here just told me to leave it on workshop impossible to do it your self!) so i just took a wild guess about the torques.
Bearing caps 60ft.lbs cover bolts 19ft.lbs and the pinion i just torqued by hand until it was turning easely whitout any freeplay.
I just painted the ring gear white and placed chim betven piniong gear and bearing until i got the contact betven gears in center of the gears.
So now im happy again :) whit my little chevy..
