Work in progresstazdev 02-03-2002, 03:50 AM here are some of the first pics of the r34 I am making. The first is of the first base coat on the body and the white undercoat on the rear wing (to be finished in red). http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/919014basecoat.jpg This second picture shows the devil of model making, leaving cat hairs all though paint jobs and pulling fresh painted pieces onto the floor:( http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/318916nightmare.jpg But I can't stay mad at him for long:p Jay! 02-03-2002, 05:37 AM Which one is it? Unisia Jecs? My cat likes to knock my completed cars off the window sill. Jerk! tazdev 02-04-2002, 12:29 AM Originally posted by jay@af Which one is it? Unisia Jecs? I'm taking my time on the main body so there are no new pics of that yet. Engine, I really should take the pics in sunlight not the little halogen desk light I have:( http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/954579engine.jpg here are the inner doors (had to strip the inital paint (AS-12) off as the black wasn't painting properly over it :( :( (you live and learn) http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/871470innerdoors.jpg and a quick question. Is TS-13 what you use for the final clear coat on your models?????[ tazdev 02-05-2002, 10:28 PM Holiday today so spent more quality time with my project. thems the brakes http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/511663brakes.jpg Volk Racing wheels http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/372749wheel.jpg Semi completed floorplan http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/967398floorpan2.jpg tazdev 02-06-2002, 12:42 AM More pics to keep you updated. I have been busy today:D Single Recaro race seat http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/164435recaro.jpg wondering if I should give the seat a clear coat or not, Look forward to your sugestions Jay! 02-06-2002, 01:51 AM Originally posted by tazdev Is TS-13 what you use for the final clear coat on your models?????[ Yes. I wouldn't think to clear coat the seat, though. It should be out of harms way enough. Plus, the contrast between the paint on the seat and the decal harness will give the illusion of separate parts. Clear coating would hide that contrast. tazdev 02-06-2002, 02:54 AM thats what I was thinking to. Just need some clarification so I don't F it up:rolleyes: pkw1 02-06-2002, 05:31 AM that volk wheel looks really good, and man, after seeing those seatbelt decals, I'm going to go buy some aftermarket stuff.;) Bobj 02-06-2002, 05:49 AM That looks great i have that kit and will be starting soon but i can't buy the paint AS-12 would chrome silver do the job or flat aluminium, i could even use titanium silver. let me know what you think.:) tazdev 02-07-2002, 12:26 AM The CHROME SILVER is the best match that I can find in my selection of paints. Had to patch up some scrapes and marks on the roll cage and the chrome silver is a bloody close match:) Haven't ever seen the titanium silver so I can't comment on that one turbos86 02-07-2002, 12:46 AM So the car is in red? does that mean ALL the white part are decals? would be a bitch to put on if it is:o tazdev 02-07-2002, 02:58 AM the main body is white with some red decals and some red paint, I'm trying hard to make it so it will all look like decals. body colors first coat http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/726237body.jpg completed interior (100%) this is the tidiest interior I have done so I am as happy as a pig in Sh!t:) http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/848812interior1.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/968733interior2.pg.jpg Now no more pictures until complete, don't want to bore you all:flipa: Bobj 02-07-2002, 05:28 AM Thanks for ya help with the paint 'chrome silver it is' looking at your pictures it looks like your panting front red i thought it was decal on front bonnet and just the fins painted red.:) Jay! 02-07-2002, 06:04 AM The interior does look great, man!!! Nice job! :D primera man 02-07-2002, 06:34 AM Looking good. Nice pics for us to see the built up. I just got the Penzoil Oil one today so i'll be keeping a close eye on this thread now !!!!  tazdev 02-07-2002, 08:52 PM most of the red is decal. Except for the front bar (bloody hard to decal it) and the openings on the top of the bonnet is also painted. NOTE. This car uses a different exhaust to the Pennzoil car but both are included in the kit. I accidentally used the one from the pennzoil car and had to cut the end off and put the correct end on:rolleyes: make sure you use the correct one tazdev 02-07-2002, 09:47 PM I really reaaly want to use bad language here but will refrain myself. I woke up this morning with a funny feeling but couldn't put my finger on what it was. I got home from work and looked at my decal sheets, then it hit me, the carbon fibre decal for the back of the race seat was still on the sheet:( Lucky I spent awhile painting the back of the seat so it is not so noticable. I could kick myself for forgeting it, it's not like it's small:bloated: Jay! 02-07-2002, 09:49 PM Sounds like a good tip for the "Hard Way" thread. :o tazdev 02-07-2002, 09:57 PM Originally posted by jay@af Sounds like a good tip for the "Hard Way" thread. :o which one?? Well done...i like it very very much. I always thought about buying this kit and you may have made up my mind now. I bet you had some fun with the decal over the front bonnet vents tazdev 02-09-2002, 06:28 AM Originally posted by primera man A job well done by the looks of things. Well done...i like it very very much. I always thought about buying this kit and you may have made up my mind now. I bet you had some fun with the decal over the front bonnet vents thanks for the compliments. That front bonnet vent is actually painted as is the front bar (as per the kit) the decals around the wheel arches were hard enough G-Forces 02-09-2002, 10:10 AM Looks really good! Damn I'll have to get these one day too. They look awesome! Jay! 02-09-2002, 08:04 PM Originally posted by tazdev Engine, I really should take the pics in sunlight not the little halogen desk light I have:( http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/954579engine.jpgI meant to ask before... Did the engine come with the kit? I thought only the R32s came with engines? Can you open anything to see the engine once it's complete? tazdev 02-09-2002, 08:18 PM no you can only see the bottom of the engine, sump etc. but it is still part of the engine:D vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
