hows it goin me and my buddies are in the process of building a 72 nova into a drag car and we have like almost no budget for it what so ever so we cant get a new motor and are having to deal with original equipment which unfortunatly is a 307 small block that we have lucked out enough to get a few things from various family members (headers, 4bbl and intake, and a used msd distibutor) but other than that its bone stock
so i was wondering does any one know/have any cheap ways to get more power out of that motor
any help would be great thanks

Yea, Nova68 is right, you definatly need something better, you wont get anything else out of that 307.

um, best bet, sell the 307, and with the money, go to a junk yard and get a 350 outta an old car, they arnt the best motors, but they are cheap, save the headers, distributor, and intake/carb, they will bolt right up to the 350

Will the parts bolt up? I thought the 307 had different intake bolts than the 305/350?

About the only thing you can do is swap in a very mild cam such as a Comp Extreme Energy 262. Anything bigger would require another converter which I take is not in your budget. I remember when I first started out working on mine and I was in the same boat. Keep on tinkering and you and your buddies will have a blast.
