starting problemdlinh747 08-05-2004, 10:23 AM hello alll, When I push down the emergency brake pedal, it pinched one of the wire (green with black stripe)..now my van still crank up but not started. I checked the fuse box in the glove box...they are OK...someone told me the fuse link might be bad...but I don't know where to find it under the hood or what it look like...Please help...I need this van by this saturday.. Thank in Advance frankendart 09-13-2004, 06:04 PM It's called a "FUSABLE LINK", and if it goes, nothing works, not even the starter. What year van, and which engine do you have? I've got a book that I can trace the wires in, but I need to know the year of the van. Some of the cause of an engine cranking, but not starting could be: Out of gas, carb problem, Choke not working right, water inside the distributer cap, a cracked cap, or a grounded lead, fouled plugs, or loose plugs Bad Magnetic pick up coil, low compression, Bad coil, gas not getting to carb timing chain jumped or broken bad gas or water in gas bad ignition wires or loose wires vacuum leak loose power break booster hose (vacuum leak) loose PVC hose (Vacuum leak) bad coil wire primary or secondary also check the Baallast resister, or dual ballast resister. hope this helps. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
