Please help with specs digikid 08-05-2004, 10:02 AM
I have a 2001 cavalier with a 2.2L engine and auto transmission. I have a few questions that I hope someone can answer. 1) How much HP does this engine have, and 2) How much HP can it be maxed to without damaging anything? Thanks in advance nova racer 08-05-2004, 10:19 AM base hp i think is 115 but it feels less than that i say around 99-105 flywheel hp. I think that with bolt ons you could get up to 145 or so. have you driven a cav with a 2.4 or a ecotec yet? digikid 08-05-2004, 09:35 PM No, i didn't know about them at the time that I got my car. I was desperate for a car and now I wish I hadn't been. I am looking to add on some hp to this car as I'll have it for a while. jayson716 08-05-2004, 10:20 PM Yea i agree bolt ons a cold air intake new exhaust high flow cat header and other stuff will help here is a web site good company to deal with well i have had luck but can get pricy http://www.autotrucktoys.com/cavalier/directory.aspx?SID=3& lowS-DIME 08-05-2004, 11:57 PM it is 115 flywheel hp.. it is more like 95 to the wheels... i would recommend "bolting on" a turbo... ProfessorXU 09-09-2004, 01:33 PM The base power is 115, but the power loss by the time it gets to the wheels is about 15%. With the right mods though (no NOS or Turbo) you can almost double that. You're going to spend some bucks though. Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
