Hello all...
Im considering buying a 1993 JGC Laredo with 200K miles on it...not being a "car guy" with respect to repairs, troubleshooting, etc. and assuming the vehicle has been cared for, what types of things should I expect of a vehicle this age/mileage?

-oil leaks
-suspension problems
-transmission issues
-hose / belt replacements
-etc.

Should I even be looking at this car given the age/mileage?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...Neils

If you are set on the jeep, get a mechanical inspection from a shop you trust. Compression test, transmission every thing.

It's best if the transfercase is for the select track system rather than the Quadratrac (IMHO)

check for accidents and insurance write offs etc.

good luck.

I have a 93 with 125K on it and it has been pretty reliable but, as with any car that age and with that many miles you will need to be prepared for failure of most major components. At this point it could run for another 100K and be fine but it could also drop the trans/t-case/motor/differentials at any time. These can be very expensive repairs. If the vehicle was properly maintained then it should hold up but I agree get a shop to check it over. ByronP
