Hey guys I have a question about a lamborghini I see every saturday afternoon. It is a 2001 lamborghini diablo vt. I've seen other lambo but this one is a little different. It has a black wing and black ground effects. Its not like the whole bumber is black or anything its like only on the bottom of the bumbers and bottom side of the car. This is the first time i see a lamorghini like this. Is it some kind of special edition or are those just opptional add-ons. If any of you guys want to see it and are in chicago just go to rush street and right where rush st. and state st. meet. But its a block south of that intersection. Its usually there on saturday afternoons sometime around 1pm. I would really like you guys to respond, i am really interested in knowing if this is like and extremely rare diablo or is it just your average run-of-the-mill diablo (as if any diablo were average) with some add-ons.

Well it could be the following
A 1998/1999 Diablo Gt (They have Black Wings & Ground Effects)
A regular Diablo VT (Some do have Black factory Wings)
A modified Diablo Vt
It's probably either 1 or 2, modified Diablos are literally one in a million.

Well Porsche, i know it was a vt, because on the back side it said "VT". But it probably was just a regular Diablo with a some factory add-ons.

Well guys i think that the diablo is modified. Today when I left work I saw the Diablo. The exhaust on diablo comes out on either side of the rear bumber but on this diablo the exhaust is coming straight out the center. The exhaust doesn't look like the stock exhaust either. So I am hoping that it is modified. Because if it is it is truly a one in a million diablo. This was the best day ever. I got to see the diablo and while i was running an errand for my boss i saw a brand-new Ferrari 456M. It was gun-metal grey or silver, you know the color. It was so sweet. I love working in downtown Chicago.

007, I think you are correct. The pic of the 6.0 VT would be my guess as well without actually seeing a picture. The wing on that car is an extra addon that someone has included. That particular car was at the Fox Valley Motorsprorts Lamborghini Dealership a short time ago. It is very possible that the new owner of the car that 007 listed the URL for is that SAME car. Fox Valley Motorsports is located in west Chicago.

The original 6.0 VT rear wing is slightly different. Here is a shot of a 6.0 with an original wing, but not black. Some were black carbon but not the "full race trim" version as in the picture 007 included.

2cool. If you continue tosee the car regularly, take a picture of it and post a shot of it here on the forum. It would be an easy way to know for certain. Likewise, it if was a collectable car, it would be great to see something new.

XOTech i am going to buy a disposable camera tommorow and start taking it to work with me everyday. I am hoping that he will bring the lamborghini tommorrow. I think that the owner of the lambo is the owner of the restauraunt that it is always parked in front of. If i see it tommorrow i will take as many pics as possible and develop the film, scan the pics into my computer, and then post them. If it isn't there tommorrow i'll go to work on saturday and it should be there. I want to get the pics out there as soon as possible. I want everyone to see what i am seeing so that we can finally determine if this is actually a modified lambo or not. Oh one more thing. I also saw a brand new Ferrari 456M in gunmetal gray. It was a sweet day for car spotting.

Ok, everybody sit down, i'll clear the smoke for you.

2coolJay - The car you see is owned by one of my customers. The black goundeffects is actually a chin spoiler made out of visible carbon fibre. The wing is the same as a standard SV wing, but in visible carbon as well. The exhaust comes out the middle on all 6.o's. But if you ever hear the car running, he does have a full Tubi system on it, and it sounds awesome. in addition, that car has purplish/gray interior.

Aoo7apl - the photo that you posted was a car that was sold to a gentleman in wisconsin. The wing on it is from an SV-R. The only other modification the car has is about 30k in stereo.

007. I am not certain if this is the car that 2cool is speaking of. However, this car was at the Concourso Italiano 2001 in Monterey, California just last August (as is obvious from the URL). This car was modified quite heavily by Al Burtoni of Milano Imports. He is located not far from Monterey in Gilroy, California. The car has the Burtoni developed MMEC kit as modified from the original Jota kit that first appeared on the 30SE. Burtoni basically started with the original unit and made it much better. I believe he makes the wing for the car as well. Burtoni had several cars there that he has modified over the years. His work is most impressive.

I believe these pictures were taken just minutes before I walked to that end of the field that day. I attend the event every year. I wouldn't miss it for the world. It is a major day for my business as well.

007, have you attended the meet before?

I am not good in English, use a translator who fails,http://world.altavista.com/tr , but, I always try to help.

in my Lamborghini folder in my computer archives exist 18.000 more than and this Diablo I it did not find.

Yes, I am folloied, I cited Diablo above therefore can be equal to the " mysterious one " and if I to find another one not importing its nationality, I will open one link for this.

I go hunts it, I want in my gallery!

007, You have a great collection of pictures.

Have you been to the Concorso Italiano show here in the US? It is a great show. There are always 50-100 different Lamborghinis there. I have not missed a show in many years.

Where is the show exactly? I would love to attend. Is it open to the public?

I can't think of a better way to spend a few vacation days. :)

Jeffrey,

The Concorso Italiano is held each year in Monterey, California (near San Francisco) in August. It is always held on the Friday closest to the 17th. This year's event will be held on August 16th.

It is open to the public. The event is quite expensive as far as average car shows go, but this show is far and above average. If you do plan to attend, I recommend getting your reservation up to a year in advance. Every hotel for 200 miles is booked almost a full year in advance. I make reservations at each event for the following year event.

Concorso Italiano (http://www.concorso.com/)

During that same weekend there are usually 4 top end auctions scheduled: Blackhawk Collection, Kruse Auctions, Christies Auction, Brooks and others, all of which have a very impressive lineup of automobiles. The auctions take place at various times and do charge for entry.

Throughout the whole weekend, the Historic Races at Laguna Seca are held. The races are based on classes that range from the old Ferrari 250 GTOs and 250 TRs to GT40s, Vintage Corvettes, and everything else that has ever raced in its day through the years.

On Sunday is the Pebble Beach Concourse. It is also quite expesive, but has an attendance of automobiles that will likely never be seen in public again. The subject matter of autos is more along the lines of vintage Packards, Lincolns, Cords, and others, but the sights are worth the time.

If you are most interested in the exotics, I would recommend Concorso Italiano. If you are looking for a vacation that will top all others, I would say, go to all of them.
