With all the money you put in it, you know whats wrong....whats been replaced, how it drives. whats it quirks and pretty much, your little baby, These Metros are really good little cars, once all the kinks are gotten out of, they are dependable...and while everyone gets crappy gas mileage, you know that 3 or 4 cylinder will always get good gas mileage. Its a economy car! Not a lexas, bmw, ford, but its a GM Product with a Suzuki parts on it. Sure your mad as everything, but its just like everything else in this world, it needs FIXING. Nothing...nothing will last forever and still be the same shape, size or context that you brought it when it was new or used. When you get that OTHER Auto, same thing is going to happen...cept you'll start all over from the beginning to learn what part is going bad or even learning what was the reason that Auto was getting sold....to me its better to keep what you got, why buy someone's else's problems?

i know!! i came to my senses. i am keeping it. i couldn't have given it up!! now i just have to fix the surging. it has been tuned up and i think it may be fuel pressure regulator....i realized i love the car and couldn't get rid of it...it has so much into it and what not too.

Yeah, keep that Metro. For gas mileage, it comes in a close second next to one of those expensive Hybred gas engine/electric motor cars. My daughter has a Metro, now I'm considering buying one too! Even with the air conditioner on at all times, it gets 48 MPG highway! I rented one in Hawaii a few years ago that averaged 52 MPG highway with the air conditioner! Once all the problems are ironed-out you'll be home free and using the money you save on gasoline for more important things.

i KNOW HOW AGGRAvating cars can be -- but everything needs to be fixed-- I have a 96 metro put a whole new front end on the darn thing --BUT I get up to 60 mph and the front end feels like it will vibrate right off of there!!! what the heck-- I dont know-- I just hope it is not the rack and pinion-- already have new brakes all the way around, struts, inner and outer tie rod, and stabilizer link pins-- only things left are control arms and rack and pinion-- if any one has a clue please let me know !!! BUT I DO FEEL YOUR PAIN--I also want to add that I drive a full size 5.7L GMC 4x4 168 miles daily @ 22-26 bucks a day in gas -- so I would LOVE TO GET MY METRO RUNNING!

Tires out of balance, low air pressure....

Switch the two front tires to the back, and the back tires to the front. If you feel less vibration in the front, something was wrong with the tires. Could be a bent rim, or a damaged tire.

Bad idea. If you've got a bent rim, and you stick it in the back, kiss your wheel bearing goodbye within a week. I've got a set of 13" rims for a convertible here if ya want em' :)

You can have em if ya wanna come pick them up. I won't be needing them anymore. 2 of them have good tires, 2 of them are a bit worn. Email me (address is in my profile) and we'll arrange the pickup of the rims.
