89 Probe has three related problems...mercurybird 08-02-2004, 02:34 PM My '89 Ford Probe developed three problems all at once so it would seem they are related. Here they are; 1. The engine cooling fan will not come on. I jumpered the leads from the cooling temperature sensor in the bottom of the radiator. Still no fan. 2. The A/C will not work. The clutch on the compressor will not even engage. When I push the A/C button inside, the little blue indicator light comes on. 3. The Air Conditioner/Heater Blower inside the car will not come on at all. I checked all the fuses up front and in the car to these systems. They are all good. Everything was working perfect yesterday. Where do I go from here? rruddfan21 08-17-2004, 07:04 PM about your cooling fan: i know it sounds dumb, but check all wiring and make sure everything is plugged in. mine didn't run and it turned out the connector at the fan wasn't plugged in. also, does the car run any different? do you have bad mpg? you may have a bad coolant temp sensor. check that. also, check and make sure the fan blades aren't frozen stuck. these are just suggestions mercurybird 08-17-2004, 08:57 PM about your cooling fan: i know it sounds dumb, but check all wiring and make sure everything is plugged in. mine didn't run and it turned out the connector at the fan wasn't plugged in. also, does the car run any different? do you have bad mpg? you may have a bad coolant temp sensor. check that. also, check and make sure the fan blades aren't frozen stuck. these are just suggestions Thanks! It turned out to be those two relays that are between the radiator and the battery. They had both gotten wet, and corroded. Thanks Muddfan21! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
