Alright the story is a friend of mine and I are possibly going to buy a 84 Town Car, but its only 100 bucks. lol We don't know what condition it is in, but I need a couple of questions answered before we go to look at it to began with. First of all I know its a 100 dollar car, so if your just gonna nag then forget it.... One of the things I want to know, is it possibly to remove the vinyl/cloth top covering? We had thought about getting a Continental before, but the top was shredded. The guy said it was repairable ?!?! Another thing is what would be the major problems to look for when we go to see it? Mainly we want a project car that needs minor engine work, and we can do anybody work. And the other one is what are the specs for this car? Any help would be great! Thanks.

84 is a very nice riding vehicle, it floats like a sofa on the highway. You'll be very pleased.
However... expect tons of problems for your $100.

As for the top.. under the fabric is just glue on bare metal. Ford didn't waste any paint on cars with rag tops so most of them that have gone to shit also have lots of rust on the bare metal.

Thanks for the info. We decented that for 100 dollars it did sound to good to be true, and we are still goingto continue looking for a good project car.
