K&N Filter for salePickelicious 08-01-2004, 12:05 PM Hi, I'm selling a used K&N drop in air filter on ebay. I used it for 800 miles, then decided to switch back to paper filters. You can bid at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7913597906 This is the filter that fits into the Grand Ams. Thanks! Pvt_Murphy 08-02-2004, 08:17 PM out of curiosity: why did you decide to switch back to paper; I got the K&N too and never thought 2x about it; I love it. Pickelicious 08-02-2004, 08:31 PM I read this: http://theoildrop.server101.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=15;t=000265 Looking at the filtration capabilities of the K&N freaked me out. It was the worst scoring filter as far as filtering goes. The only thing it scored well on was airflow, which I consider a lower priority to filtering all the gunk out of the air. It probably doesn't really matter, but my car is new and I tend to freak out over small things. I would just assume use a more efficient paper filter than to risk getting all sorts of gunk in my engine. I bought one for my grand am and love the increase for it. Switching back to a "paper filter " is probably one of the worst things you could do for your engine. It needs more air and k&n filters are one of the best!!!!! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
