Hi,
guys, I want to install a transmission cooler in my 99 montana.
There are tow cooler lines from transmission to radiator, one is on the top, another is at bottom.

Is there anyone can tell me which one is return line?

Thanks

I don't know the answer to your question but are you aware that the radiator already has a transmission cooler built into it?

You may not need an extra one ...perhaps.

If it is sitting vertical the bottom line should be the return. I agree with your decision to install a cooler on your transmission as heat is a killer of transaxles. Just make sure you buy a quality cooler and mount it in the air stream so that it gets plenty or air.

Hi, GTP

I was told by a mechanician the top line is return line. He connected the cooler on the top line. Are you sure the bottom line is return line? Do I change the connection?

Thanks

No, you don't need to change it. As long as the fluid flows through the cooler it really doen't matter what direction it travels. Sorry for the bad advice, but every tranny cooler I ever saw connected to the radiator the top was the infeed and the bottom was the return line so that the coolant flowed down over over the cooler and the cool fluid came out the bottom.
