I recently bought a venture from an auction. Unfortunatly it came without manual and only a car key. It is an LS model but I am wondering if anyone can tell me how I can find out if it is a keyless entry. Where can I find a manual? Also, when toggling between the milage readings on the speedometer, there is a reading that says OIL and a number next to it. What does that number represent or mean? Should I be concerned because when I bought it, it was reading 25 then continued to drop every few days until it is reading 15 now. Thanks

The "oil" reading indicates the % of life left on your oil. As the reading approaches zero, you need to schedule a oil change. Then, you reset the meter so it starts over at 100. Do do this, you need the manual, but it's not difficult. You can find manuals, and remote key fobs at a dealer, but both are less expensive on e-bay.

I found the manual to my 1997 Caddilac in PDF format on the web. Before you pay for one, do a thorough search of the web for one in PDF. You may also try www.chevrolet.com and register your vehicle. I am not sure if they will provide the manual in PDF there or not. As for the keyless remotes, there is a seller on ebay, his id is "h-d4me" and he posts in eBay Motors > Parts & Accessories > Car & Truck > Safety & Security > Keyless Entry Remote / Fob, I bought my replacement second remote from him a couple of weeks ago and it works great!!! If you are in a hurry and he does not have what you need posted, check out www.keylessride.com.

With an LS trim level Venture I assure you it is keyless remote. When you get a new remote, the programming instructions can be found in this forum. I used the 2001 and/or 2003 instructions for my 2002. What you need to find out and you can find out with the VIN, is what remote you need. Do you have dual power doors? Anyway, I hope this helps.

God bless.
