My '00 Venture is Possessed

On a road trip 800 miles from home:

driving down the interstate the doors unlocked themselves. we relocked them with the remote. thought maybe we bumped it or something. few minutes later, it did it again. sure enough, between 25-45 mph the damn thing continually locks and unlocks! once we get out of that speed range they stop. then the radio/clock would not turn off when the key was turned of and the oor was opened. interior lights were not coming on either. I can now lock the door with the key and the door button but our remotes don't work, the sliding door button on my remote still works, so it's not a programming issue.

got to the hotel and my husband pulled up the floor thinking a wire had gone nuts. there was water on the floor so he dried everything and spliced what looked dicey. made interior light come back and made the radio turn off when the door opens. my headlight and interior lights are now flickering...very subtle, but I see it. still no remotes and the doors are still possessed LOL

any ideas?? help a girl out :icon16:

I would guess that you are getting water inside the car coming from AC condensation. That's a very common problem with these cars, if that's the case you need to take it to the dealer to install a plastic extension to drain the water from AC outside the car, not expensive. Mine was done under warranty.

right, we figured out it's from the A/C, but I need to know how to fix the still possessed doors. 25-45 mph, without fail, then unlock and relock over and over.

It was the BCM. A shade tree mechanic figured it out. $90 later it was as good as new.
