Power sliding door issue

I have a strange problem. My power sliding door works when I begin opening it manually, but not with the buttons. In other words, if I pull on the handle, it will slide open by itself. If I push the buttons, it will only click. However, once it is open, the buttons will close it.

I have done the reset as specific in the manual (pull the radio fuse under the hood and all of that) but it did not help.

Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it?

Thanks in advance,
David

The only problem I have had with mine is:
1 the contacts get dirty all the time and need cleaning!

2 the power lock is starting to stick and keeps the door from opening

Are your contacts dirty perhaps?

Nope. I cleaned them again just now to be sure. I think something could be broken internally. For a few weeks, the exterior door handle was very hard to operate. Once it loosened up again, the door quit opening via the buttons. I think something may have broken. Has anyone had the door apart? Anyone familiar with the mechanism?

Did you get your door apart, and if so was it difficult? I need to get mine apart to troubleshoot a stuck locking mechanism. Trouble is, the door is locked closed at the momemnt. Thanks

Our 2000 would not open. The power lock would not unlock it. Couldn't do it manually either. Took it in (about 6th time we have had it in for the door alone) and they had to replace the entire lock mechanism. About $130. Piece of junk.
