Replace valve seal, changed plugs, wires, and new battery as the other was dead. Started toturn over, but the water/antifreeze all came out the exhaust! Any idea on this one. Thanks

Might be a blown head gasket....I had a similar problem when mine went....take of the Valve cover and see if there is antifreeze in there. If there is, it is the head gasket...if it's clean, then I don't know what the problem is, but definitely look to the head gasket to be the problem.

yea its most likely the head gasket. your gonna have alot of fun replacin that (sarcasm) or your gonna feel a your pockets get way lighter if u go to a mechanic. you should avoid takin it to a mechanic. and do it yourself. get the haynes book.

Replacing the head gasket involved taking the engine out of the car b/c there is NO WAY possible to time the car while the engine is still in. But, it is a chore.

Took the valve cover off, and there is no antifreeze in there, only oil. This flippin car is awesome when it runs, but kills me when it doesn't!!

most likely you wont see it in there, its dumping into your cylinders, Like they said you have a blown head gasket.

dude i dont know how long have u been messing with an engine, end espesialy 4g63, but what u are sayin is totaly NOT true. i suggest if u are going to keep on meesing with your car , u do a research first. if u have basic knowlage of how things works HG replacement can be done in 3-5 hours. i just hope that the person who told u that u have to take the engine out, is not your mechanic....

You are right, but it would be much better if we could replacel "u" with you. You guys are killing me!

On my car the motor comes out in less than 3 hours, so I prefer to just pull the motor. Its a bitch with a 6 bolt in there. I dunno, maybe I'm just spoiled with a car that is built specifically to come part easily. But I have done dozens of tbelt jobs with the motor in. ITs typically the quickest way.

I agree with Dupe and Kevin...it is definitely more work to take the engine out and time it than to time it with the engine in the car. The biggest hassle IMO is jacking the engine up and down to take off all the damn pulleys that Mitsu decided to squeeze within an inch of the driver's side body wall of the car.

Yea back in the day i had a 92 ford escort, and i cracked my head right at the valves (at the time i didnt know what the hell that meant), but yea the antifreeze seeps through that crack into your cylinders and you get a nice huge cloud of smoke out of your exhaust. Mine had like a black cloud it was horrible. Since i took it to a mechanic it ended up costing me 600 bucks.
