Enjoy.... http://www.rtek.org/images/painted1.jpg http://www.rtek.org/images/painted2.jpg http://www.rtek.org/images/painted3.jpg Takumi8187 07-25-2004, 04:35 PM Is your front windshield tinted?? emerge 07-25-2004, 05:46 PM yeah. 6% windows, 32% windsheild. Beastiek2 07-25-2004, 05:58 PM CLEANNNNN! Looks good dude. exman98 07-25-2004, 06:30 PM nice Ricochet 07-25-2004, 06:48 PM noice! Jas_M 07-25-2004, 06:52 PM Very nice! Miataracer 07-25-2004, 07:17 PM what the hell? how do you not get busted for that windshield? Ace$nyper 07-25-2004, 07:21 PM very clean and not only busted how do you see outta it? its hot though! emerge 07-25-2004, 07:58 PM very clean and not only busted how do you see outta it? its hot though! You can't get busted for a windsheild tint because they can't test it. If you've ever been checked for illegal tint (which I have), you've seen the machine they use to test it. It only works on your side windows that roll up and down. It's a little bit harder to see at night, but it just takes getting used to. T-Racer 07-25-2004, 08:16 PM how do you not get busted for your other windows then? i see you have it tinted also on your side windows. very clean though man, i love it. Jas_M 07-25-2004, 08:35 PM You can't get busted for a windsheild tint because they can't test it. If you've ever been checked for illegal tint (which I have), you've seen the machine they use to test it. It only works on your side windows that roll up and down. That's not entirely true. Along the l/r edges of the windshield, there are tiny markers that indicate how far down tint can go. If you go below the markers, then you can get nailed by the cops, who don't need any machine, a simple visual inspection will suffice. At least that's the case here in Chicago; maybe you're city/state is more lenient than it is here (ya lucky sob  ) In Chicago it's also illegal for the driver's and passenger side windows to have any tint at all, but unless a cop has nothing better than do, 99% of them let it slide. NerveAgent 07-25-2004, 11:32 PM Very Nice!!! I Love!!! BennyBakwood007 07-25-2004, 11:49 PM Very nice...but where did u find someone that would tint your windsheild? unless u did it yourself...everyone ive been to wont even touch the windsheild Miataracer 07-26-2004, 12:13 AM any place around me will tint whatever you tell them to. they are just required to tell you that tinting the windshield and front driver and passenger windows is against state law emerge 07-26-2004, 02:23 AM I had mine done by a friend of mine who works at a tint shop. He does side-jobs at his house for extra $$$. He charged me 200$ to strip the entire car and re-tint everything. eckoman_pdx 07-26-2004, 03:22 AM I had mine done by a friend of mine who works at a tint shop. He does side-jobs at his house for extra $$$. He charged me 200$ to strip the entire car and re-tint everything. I gather from this statement you had previous tint on it. Which windows and what % tint? emerge 07-26-2004, 01:29 PM old tint was 35% all-around new tint is 6% all-around with 32% windsheild Kafziel 07-26-2004, 01:37 PM Looks good. I guess Atlanta is much cooler about the tint laws than New York. I wouldn't get two blocks with tint like that. That's a really kick-ass feature, because it's so rare. I'll spare you the speech about safety, because chances are we'll never be on the same roads so go for it! eckoman_pdx 07-26-2004, 05:32 PM old tint was 35% all-around new tint is 6% all-around with 32% windsheild Well it looks good, not exactly sure about seeing at night with all that tint, but it looks good. I know when they remove the tint from the back window, sometimes the windsheild de-frost lines come up with it, thereby making it so they don't all work. Was this the case, or are all the windsheild defrost lines intact? Anyways, good luck keeping it all for awhile. I know in alot of areas polce would nail you for all that, but especially the windsheild. Jas_M 07-27-2004, 02:22 AM Well it looks good, not exactly sure about seeing at night with all that tint, but it looks good. I know when they remove the tint from the back window, sometimes the windsheild de-frost lines come up with it, thereby making it so they don't all work. Was this the case, or are all the windsheild defrost lines intact? I had the same thing happen on my previous car. I could only defrost a few lines on my rear window when it would get fogged up. Can you give us the goods, or is it a 'trade secret' that your friend won't share? GScivic7 07-27-2004, 06:14 AM I think this is because I've been away for a while, but what conversion did you do? Front end conversion? I thought your car was a 99-00? I'm so confizzled... snowman2005 07-27-2004, 11:08 AM nice car. how much did you lower it. and what engine does the car have eckoman_pdx 07-27-2004, 06:26 PM I think this is because I've been away for a while, but what conversion did you do? Front end conversion? I thought your car was a 99-00? I'm so confizzled... emerge has a 1997 Honda Civic, and he did a 99-00 front end conversion on it. emerge 07-27-2004, 07:12 PM nice car. how much did you lower it. and what engine does the car have 3" lowered on 205/40/17's with a 2 degree camber kit. engine is still the stock d16y8 but I'm saving up for the b18b right now... snowman2005 07-27-2004, 07:45 PM 3 inch. thats a big drop doesnt seem like that much. i have 17s on my ej and i wana know how much i should drop and urs looks like what i want but 3" is alot. cant wait to see the swap. ever consider turbo instead of swap. jw eckoman_pdx 07-27-2004, 07:55 PM 3 inch. thats a big drop doesnt seem like that much. i have 17s on my ej and i wana know how much i should drop and urs looks like what i want but 3" is alot. cant wait to see the swap. ever consider turbo instead of swap. jw You've got a 5th gen, 2" or so should be what your after. emerge 07-27-2004, 08:44 PM Well you have to remember I have a camber kit. That picks the car up about an inch higher (because the tires sit perpindicular to the ground) eckoman_pdx 07-27-2004, 08:51 PM Well you have to remember I have a camber kit. That picks the car up about an inch higher (because the tires sit perpindicular to the ground) I forgot to mention that too him, opps. Yeah, I have a 5th gen with a 1.75" drop with front and rear camber correction kits. 3" is prettylow, but espeically on a 5th gen. I'd say 2" or so would be up his ally...and oh course a cmaber kit is a good idea unless he likes going though tires like they're a bad style, lol. charles_m 07-28-2004, 01:16 AM very nice! GScivic7 07-28-2004, 06:05 AM emerge has a 1997 Honda Civic, and he did a 99-00 front end conversion on it. I guess that's what happens when you get on when you're tired. I could have sworn he always had 99-00 front... megaman277 07-28-2004, 11:43 AM i like!!!how much did ur camber kit cost emerge 07-28-2004, 12:47 PM camber kit was close to 400$ with installation. GS, here's my 97 front end: http://www.rtek.org/images/profiles/stephen1.jpg http://www.rtek.org/images/profiles/stephen4.jpg GScivic7 07-30-2004, 02:45 AM aw shit, i see now...I always thought you had 99-00 front end, but I see the difference in the headlights now lol. you should stick that lip back on there, looks killer. GTR...GTR...GTR 07-30-2004, 03:28 AM with the windshield tint to make it legal just go to an optimologist (eye doctor) and they can give you a letter saying your eyes are super sensitive to sunlight. Just pretend at the appointment that you're eye's are sensitive as hell. (0:< Jas_M 07-30-2004, 04:04 AM with the windshield tint to make it legal just go to an optimologist (eye doctor) and they can give you a letter saying your eyes are super sensitive to sunlight. Just pretend at the appointment that you're eye's are sensitive as hell. (0:< Good luck with that (though i think you may have been joking). The tint is still illegal, whether you're sensitive to sunlight or not. The cop/judge will just tell you to wear some shades, or not drive during daylight. GTR...GTR...GTR 07-30-2004, 03:58 PM i'm serious. My dad's friends with a whole mess of cops up here and they told him that. I mean it may still be illegal but that's what the coppers told him. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
