Rear suspension has a clunking noise which comes and goes. No visible damage. Anyone have similar problems or ideas on what this might be?

you may want to get the strut mounts checked ..if they are loose or worse getting worn they will make all sorts of weird noises at different times

I replaced the stabilizer link bars about three months ago and everything has been great since. Thanks for your reply I am sure the struts will be next to go.
