93 DZ16 hb Clutch problem/questionsMistaphace 07-24-2004, 12:50 PM Hey - My question has to do with my clutch screeming at me when I'm pulling off sometimes. I have to come to very very top of my clutch - to the point where it is just going to stall, then I gas it and pull off in order to avoid this screech that I'm hearing. I can feel a like a bit of a slipping. It just sounds like that plate is worn or something - I don't know much about clutches though, just what I've read online. My 93 hb si has cai/h/catback it moves but I know I really don't need a racing clutch, but I want to go aftermarket and find something that hold up with this setup and even possilbly hang with a turbo (in the future). So, does anybody have any ideas on that screeching sound when I pull off? How about the best combo (clutch and flywheel) for my setup? Thanks for the help! FACE jameskersten 07-24-2004, 08:25 PM could be release bearing. hard to tell without hearing in person. good cheap aftermarket clutch for your car would be an Exedy organic stage 1, cheap and reliable, plus fairly cheap not much more then a stock oem clutch form honda. Mistaphace 07-26-2004, 02:03 PM Thanks. I found an exedy organic for like 260. I think I may end getting that with an ACT Streetlite Flywheel. BennyBakwood007 07-26-2004, 06:58 PM i had the same problem and put a exedy stage 1 clutch in my car about a year ago.....right now my car is on cinder blocks in my driveway waiting for a OEM clutch to be put in so if u drive your car anything like me (Hard and Fast) i wouldnt recommend an exedy stage 1...just a personal opinion though...take it how u like jameskersten 07-26-2004, 08:31 PM i had the same problem and put a exedy stage 1 clutch in my car about a year ago.....right now my car is on cinder blocks in my driveway waiting for a OEM clutch to be put in so if u drive your car anything like me (Hard and Fast) i wouldnt recommend an exedy stage 1...just a personal opinion though...take it how u like really? i have had nothing but good experiences with exedy. maybe your a odd case i hope. BennyBakwood007 07-26-2004, 11:18 PM man i hope im an odd case too cuz i heard good reviews about exedy before i bought one...it only takes me one time to learn my lesson so unfortunatly i wont buy anymore exedy products, but if they work good for u do what u do! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
