I ran my 97 rodeo so low on oil for at least 2 days of knocking noise that when i added oil, i added 4 quarts.

year later i have noisy lifters driving me nuts. I tried slick 50, rislon, cr2, lucas, thicker oil to thinner oil. Nothing seems to work and also my gas mileage is about 12 miles to the gallon. I need some advice please fellas
