G20 hard to startADAWG 01-31-2002, 11:09 AM I have a 94 G20t with 100K miles. When I start my car, sometimes it works fine, however sometimes, the engine cranks but after about 2 or 3 seconds, it fails to run. When it is hard to start, if I push a little bit fuel just before the engine stops, the car can be started fine. Does anybody have the same problem with your G20? Somebody told me maybe it is computer problem and it is very hard to find the problem. Is that true? Please help me. Thanks. G-Forces 01-31-2002, 11:17 AM Actually mine does that very rarely. It only happens when the car is already warm and I come back to start it. It doesn't happen all the time maybe a couple times a month. I do the same thing to get it started. Give it a little gas. So does this happen when the engine is cold? ADAWG 01-31-2002, 11:26 AM Yes, it also happened when the engine was cold. Thomas G-Forces 01-31-2002, 11:30 AM Hmm, any other problems with the engine? Dive bombing idle, stumbling? ADAWG 01-31-2002, 11:38 AM The car run well after starting. I cannot feel any engine problem when it runs. There are three possibilities when I start the car: 1. the engine rpm is around 1500 when I ignite and down to around 1000 when it starts. This is the best situation. 2. the engine rpm is a little bit above 1000 when I ignite and down to about 500 and then return to about 750 and the car started. 3. the engine rpm is a little bit above 1000 when I ignite and down to 0 and fail to run. If I push a little bit gas, it starts well. Thank you. Thomas kenchan 01-31-2002, 01:14 PM wow, a carb kinda thing. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
