Power Steering belt defect?asianprincess475 07-21-2004, 01:57 PM Hello everyone, I am just wondering if anyone else had this before. I have a 92 SL 2 Saturn (167k)and this morning it was almost impossible to move the steering the wheel. I drove it a little and there was some clicking noises under the hood. We opened the hood and the belt was not even turning. Does anyone know what could be wrong? And also, how much is this gonna cost me? Btw, this is my very first car ever. :) sierrap615 07-22-2004, 03:30 AM be careful driving it until you get this figured out.if it is the belt, you can also lose the power from the alternator and overheat without the water pump. if the belt isn't turning at all, its better to get it towed and drive it. possiblitys: broken belt - if it is you could easily pull it out with your hand. stretched belt - unlikey - it would be loose, but not removable bad tenisonier - very possible - again the belt will seem loose, but not removable, squealing is another sig of this. i don't know about the clicking, maybe something is binding. you may want to ask over at saturnfans.com vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
