Headlights flash on and off while driving - lights come on by themselves when parked in the garage. Assuming it's somewhere in the automatic headlamp control but the service department classifies it as "intermittent problem" and cannot find exact source. Any suggestions?

quite often these intermitent problems are connectors that are loose or coroded and loose grounds.

start at the battery and make sure that your battery posts are not coroded or loose. I mean take them off and scrape the surrfaces. Use a real battery post cleaner - they are cheap at autozone or wallmart.

go over each and every wire in the engine compartment that attaches to the body or frame with a screw. loosen them a little and tighten them again.

Find the daytime running lite module and wiggle the connector. Some of these modules should only be disconnected when the battery is disconnected. Not sure about which ones..

Some of the wiring harness sections use common ground points for several circuits. Are any of the other features doing weird things??

It could also be a loose contact in the headlite switch or something similar.

The above should keep you busy for a while. Let us know what works if anything.......

the multifunction switches in that model have been redesigned, they go bad often also and cause similar problems to what you are describing
