I have 97 Grand Cherokee with standard seating and have opportunity to upgrade to leather power seats. How difficult will it be to add the power option to my existing Cherokee that does not have power seats?

I think if you are luck, the wires/harnes might be pre run, so all you would have to do is bolt up an plug in. If they are not pre run, then i really can't heelp you there

They should just bolt right in.

The seats come out quite easily so you could remove one of yours to see what you have for wiring if any.

You will need to know the wiring for the motors and where the circuit grounded on the original instalation so a wiring diagram would be of some help.

You may have to run a power wire and a ground to each seat and use an inline fuse. check the amp rating of the fuse in the original circuit.

If you can, get as much of the original harness as you can to go with the seats. you should at least have both halves of the connectors nearest the switch and some wire attached to it so you can solder in the new power wire and shrink sleeve it.

soon you will be riding in luxury and comfort......enjoy  :smokin:

Thanks for the info, very helpful. Wife is fighting me on the leather as she says to hot in summer and too cold in winter. If I get and install will let you know results.
