Long story made short. Noticed car stalls and then restarts twice in one day. I get a complete tuneup and feels fine. Now adventure really starts with my experience with 3 shops over two weeks. My '94 Grand Cherokee Ltd now dies on hgwy two days later and wouldn't restart. Diagnostics shows need crankshaft sensor. Replaced and still doesn't start. Next station claims I need distributor. Replace that part and now get spark, but doesn't start. Had first station take out their parts and bring to my regular station. $650 later they state car perfect and needed the crankshaft sensor and a lot of labor plus relays. Seems perfect until 20 minutes later feels like it is having a heart attack. Like it would stall out, but it doesn't. Then after a while feels fine again. Does this everyday. Mechanic now says 99% certain needs a fuel pump. Regular mechanic out sick and friends say bring it to their station. Have pump replaced and still have the problem. Next coil and distributor cap which my other station should have replaced with tuneup. Still have the problem. Now told should go to dealer and get computer module replaced. Still bugging this shop and they decide to recheck work of other shop and they discover wiring for crankshaft done improperly and on top of that the part is defective and needs other relays. Lesson don't let them do the other work till 100% certain that crankshaft and relays are all done properly. Otherwise you will end up spending a lot more money then you should have. My experience.
