Is it water or is it coolant. My old S10 would leak there from the heater core. Granted that was a chevy but could be located in a similar spot maybe?

It is either the heater core leaking or the drain of the AC evaporator housing is plugged.

Seeing as you are complaining of this during hot weather, I would suggest checking the AC drain first.

The drain is located under the passenger side fire wall or at the back of the front fender well

Val, if your vehicle is a Grand Cehrokee (new body style) the water is more than likely coming from the upper body joint in the windshield or from the body seam under the luggage rack. The water will run down the inside of the winshield pillar trim, through the bakside of the dash and leak on the floor. A simple check would be to take it to an auto car wash and have them stop the vehicle in the middle and spray the #$%^ out of the windshield and luggage rack. This is a know problem with the new body style Cherokees and actually both sides leak.

I have a 2002 GC with the same issue. How do you fix the leak under the luggage rack? Does it need to be taken completely off?
