Fire-Breathin'-BirdGoManGo 07-16-2004, 12:46 PM This was another concept I did for another forum, my take on a new Firebird. This is one of my personal favorites and I hope you guys like her! Thanks for all the great feedback on my other posts, it's very much appreciated! http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/500/207787NewGoat5-med.jpg SeCrEtMoDdEr 07-16-2004, 12:48 PM wow... i love it... i'd actually consider buying it...those rims are interesting, i think pontiac would be very interested in your concepts. Ra_15 07-16-2004, 12:51 PM ^ I'd buy it too, but im only 16, without money... :(. I'd try to get a car design job if I were you. you 07-16-2004, 01:12 PM I thought he had a design job... SeCrEtMoDdEr 07-16-2004, 01:32 PM im 16 too...just for future purposes... your designs are really good...try to get recognized by more people and maybe you'll design cars for some company... or you already do that, we don't know cuz you dont post anything but your drawings. you 07-16-2004, 01:36 PM go to his chevy coupe thread... im 16 too, YAY... GAMsALeh 07-16-2004, 02:24 PM What do you know, I'm also 16, not really i just turned 17, damn :(. I feel left out now :D . Anywho, yeah that looks great! Like i said before, we need a tutorial. Keep it up! Mshkttck 07-16-2004, 05:12 PM Hmmm... It looks suspiciously similar to the Aston Marton Vanquish EMAXX 07-16-2004, 05:24 PM That looks really good. Like Mshkttck said, looks a lot like the Vanquish. Nice work though. I likey. xyfalconsrock 07-16-2004, 07:59 PM i'm 16 too, nah im only 15 1/2 but i like how uve incorperated the grill from the old firebirds. SL500Gullwing 07-16-2004, 10:15 PM Does anyone here know what kind of pen or pencil he uses? GoManGo 07-16-2004, 10:42 PM I drew another with different headlights and the guys over at GMI HATED it so I switched the headlights to more of a cat's-eye shape so I guess it does kinda look like an Austin, not intentionaly though. I use a PaperMate ball point pen. Hieveryone 07-16-2004, 10:47 PM GoManGo, what sort of intstruments do you use; elipses or anything? Do you draw in pencil first? Those designs are real good, as is your drawings GoManGo 07-16-2004, 11:00 PM I first draw a series of rectangles in the perspective I like then start to draw the car. Then I do a series of underlays till I get the car where I want it. I use just my pen, a straight edge, and sometimes my elipse guides. Hieveryone 07-16-2004, 11:08 PM thannks, couple more questions (sorry about all the questions, but you are really good, and i want to be able to draw as good as you). What type of papermate pen do you use (the actual "model" if you know what i mean)? Also, if you get time, can you do a perspective tutorial, or just post a pic with these rectangles you talk about? Thanks. GoManGo 07-16-2004, 11:17 PM It's just a PaperMate Medium Blue point. Don't get the fine points, they tend to rip the paper while you're sketching. Just go buy some 'A' size copy paper and sketch. When you get a car you like, put a clean sheet over it and keep refining it till you get it where you want it. So, what's the car scene like in Australia? Hieveryone 07-16-2004, 11:53 PM thanks, ......as for the car scene in Australia, its improving, but we miss out on too many cars, such as American cars and some Japanese cars ...but there just isn't the market........thats my opinion anyway. Keep up the good work, i'm going to buy that pen soon as i can HighOctaneNOSUser 07-17-2004, 01:29 AM but be careful, it isn't the pen that makes you a better artist. It IS the artist... Hieveryone 07-17-2004, 02:02 AM yeah, i know.....usually i use pencil , and that can get pretty messy, so i am looking for an alternative, and not all pens are suitable for drawing Hieveryone 07-17-2004, 02:07 AM "This was another concept I did for another forum," what is the other forum you are talking about? If its go more of this type of work i would be interested in seeing it..... koganei_hikaru 07-17-2004, 12:20 PM your concept is veeery great , but , i think it would be better if you coloured it :) stuffbyalex 07-17-2004, 02:44 PM another nice concept, and great, clean sketch.... it does kind of look like an aston martin. Also, I agree w/ koganei- some rendering would be good. GoManGo 07-17-2004, 06:27 PM Hey everyone, thanks so much for the great compliments, they are very much appreciated!! As for the other fourms, I belong to Cheers & Gears, GMI, and CarSpyShots. I was trying to find a Ford forum but I can't find one that allows drawings and the best one was from Australia but since I don't know my Australian Fords at all, I thought I'd skip that one. I haven't rendered a drawing in a loooong time and think I've forgotten how! :-) Plus I don't have any markers anymore so the whole color thing is out. I will try and put together some sort of "tutorial" that shows how I draw cars soon. A friend of mine asked me to do one for C&G also so that'll be killing two birds with one stone. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
