Folks,

Anyone know what aftermarket struts/shocks go with the 99 Saturn SL2? I've been quoted by several non dealer shops for 4 ea replacements anywhere between the total of 800 - 1000 for parts and labor. This is shocking since my 95 Nissan Maxima's replacement of all four struts/shocks were only 450 total for parts/labor. Is it because of unique design features or proprietary design? I've been quoted as the entire job taking about 5 hours total. What is envolved in such an endeavor? I hope someone can assist me in this query. The dealer is sure to be higher in their estimates according to some sources.

Reason for query is I want to change suspension to do away with the mushy/rolly feeling when driving. I was informed I should go aftermarket.

first, every year of s-series struts/shocks/springs are interchangable, so if you need 2002 struts, but a junkyard only has 1991s, they will fit.
