Porsche 917K (moved)smarjoram 07-14-2004, 02:20 PM Here's a first attempt at something that was technical yet painterly. I hoped to get some nice giclee prints done for sale but unfortunately Porsche wouldn't let me. I used a blueprint of the chassis found on the net for the basis and added the bodywork and other detail with Photoshop. Ah well. Hope you like it... http://www.pbase.com/image/26525020.jpg (Thanks to Ross for pointing out what forum this should have been in) Mshkttck 07-14-2004, 04:58 PM Hmm... I like it. What's it for? SeCrEtMoDdEr 07-14-2004, 05:27 PM that really doesn't look like you drew it...did you use photoshop or did you actually hand draw it. EDIT: oh photoshop, i should start reading posts before i post. looks cool i guess. HighOctaneNOSUser 07-14-2004, 05:40 PM Should this be in graphic Manip forums? I dunno, call in the mods! bonzelite 07-15-2004, 03:22 AM awesome. i don't care how you made the image. it is cool as fuck. Ra_15 07-15-2004, 05:03 AM :iagree: Looks amazing IMO. Mshkttck, what do you mean? Do you go and draw something and say, "what was that for"? HONU: Its a piece of car art, so It can stay here. RallyRaider 07-15-2004, 06:21 PM Yikes that is awesome stuff. I dip my hat to your talent sir! GAMsALeh 07-15-2004, 06:26 PM Do you own dupont magazines by any chance. Cuz i was looking through one the other day and i think i found the ref. pic for this drawing. Let's more sketches! :) smarjoram 07-16-2004, 04:57 AM Thanks very much for the nice comments (I particularly liked the 'what's it for?'). It wasn't that difficult as all I was doing was working over a blueprint - colouring in if you like. In the absence of having a real 917 lying about to take measurements off I used some blueprints found here... http://www.porsche917.com.ar/tecplanos01.htm That's why Porsche wouldn't let me sell the prints - which is fair enough. But arguably if you had access to the car you could produce the exact same blueprint. Ho-hum. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
