If you find out PLEASE let me know, I have a very similar post a few below yours. The local Jeep dealer wants like $50 to do it, I read that if you turn the ignition on and off 8 times in 10 seconds, then push a button on the keyless FOB then turn the ignition off, it works. I've tried this several times and no luck. If you try that method, let me know if it works for you. Thanks!

For the '98 ZJ I think you have to go to a dealer to have the key fobs activated. Sorry.

Yawp, you gotta have the dealer do it. I had three remotes and I talked them into doing all three for $50.00, so it was worth it. Better than paying $50 for one! Now that I've paid to have it done, someone will post a shortcut that works! <Laughs> Want it to rain here in So Cal? Let me wash my truck...its just that kind of luck.
