I've got a 94 S-10, 4 dr., 4.3 and the directional arm does not click back "home" after making a left hand turn. Anybody have any experience replacing the unit or am I better off just remembering to turn it off after turning.

My lefthand turn signal is doing the same exact thing. The Chiltons manual suggest replacing the "turn signal cam" inside the steering column.
I have not replaced it becuase the part cost $160 at the dealer and you need special tools to remove the steering wheel.

The special tool, a steering wheel puller, can be borrowed from your local Autozone or similar parts store.
The Turn Signal Cam is available at the following stores which are local to you:

I would just wait till it is completely shot and then replace it.

Not worth the replacement just because it won't come back to center.

You will also need the spring compression tool to depress the detent plate that locks the steering wheel.

I'm just going to wait until the thing is completely gone. Thanks for all the info though.
