Automatic Climate Control

The Digital climate control on my 1998 Intrigue GL when it shows the outside temp fluctuates up and down between 25 and 60 degrees and sometimes actually shows the right temp. What is the deal here and what can we do? With the hot weather this is kind of a pain in the butt because when it is below 34 degrees, the a/c doesn't run per the norm.

See previous thread....your outside thermometer probably needs replacing....doing so solved this problem on my '98 at a cost of $8.

Thanks, for the help.
Can you tell me were this temperature sensor is located and is it available only from the dealer or can I get it at auto part retailers?

It's a little black plastic probe-shaped (kind of resembles a spark plug) thing (technical term) about four inches long and it is attached to the plastic air/dirt deflector behind the bumper. Hard to see but obvious once you have located it. This may or may not be your problem but it probably is and this is a relatively simple and inexpensive solution. You can try auto parts stores; I didn't and bought from dealer for about $8 three years ago. Hope this solves your problem!
