Can anyone point me in the right direction with regards to upgrading the head unit on my 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo. I have the Infinity Speakers.
1 - Do I need to use a head unit with specific watts?
2 - Which dash kit do I need for a regular size head unit?
3 - can I use a double din unit in the space?
4 - Do I need an extra component to use the steering wheel controls for the new HU.

Thanks

I have a 1999 jgc with infinity gold system and found great information at the web site http://www.wjjeeps.com/audio.htm. There also are other links to web sites with additional information. I have not upgraded my system yet but will very soon .... Good luck!

I replaced my factory head unit with a pioneer and have been very happy. I got my wiring harness and dash kit from Walmart. In order to use your steering wheel controls you have to buy an SWI_X adapter made by PAC. I got mine for 39.99 from price grabber. Make sure your new head unit has a Infared Remote.
