Check engine light on '96 Mitsubishi Eclipsefreebish 07-11-2004, 01:21 PM My check engine light came on and I was having a slight loss of power accelerating in 2nd gear. I had it checked at Autozone and it said #1 cylinder misfire. I replaced all 4 plugs (but have not replaced plug wires) and the loss of power seems to be fixed but the check engine light is still on. ??? (Eclipse RS - 420A engine) guitarXgeek 07-11-2004, 02:13 PM Disconnect your battery and wait a few minutes, then reconnect it. That will turn the check engine light off. If it comes back on, then you'll know you didn't fix the problem! freebish 07-11-2004, 02:38 PM Disconnect your battery and wait a few minutes, then reconnect it. Should I try replacing the plug wires? duckydsp 07-12-2004, 04:14 PM You should do the wires at the same time as the plugs. Also try to replace the coil pack. I had to do mine. freebish 07-14-2004, 09:14 AM Thanks folks....it was the plug wires. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
