Can you tell if the noise is comming from the bottom of the engine or the top (valve cover area)?

Does the noise change when you change engine RPM?

Top engine noise might be a valve lifter sticking.

bottom noise - a connecting rod bearing

there are a few other possibilities too. most of them will cost money. :uhoh:

sorry for the bad news and continued problems.

Im not sure you can blame the type of oil. Probably just one of those things that happen from a number of causes.

PS How long have you owned the vehicle??

RPM is your engine revolutions per minute. It is indicated on the tachometer.

sometimes valve noise can be helped with an oil additive. Not sure what you have available there. If that doesn't work then the engine will have to be taken apart and parts replaced.

Top engine noise could also be piston related. hard to tell from here. :icon16: :grinno:

i put shell oil 10/40 and the noise when i start the engine is the same as before and when the engine work for 3-4 min the noise is sweeter but is still there.

we have a an oil meter at the console (0-5.4). where is safe because the pressure play between 2 and 3. its problem

the noise change when rpm change

Is noise different (louder or softer) when RPM increases rapidly from when RPM decreases rapidly?

or - is noise same (loudness) all the time?

louder

Is the sound a high pitch like a rock in a tin can or lower pitch?

when i start my vehicle the noise is high and when the rpm get up the noise is higher. after 3-4 minute the noise is lower.

please tell me about the oil meter that we have at the console. where it must be (0-5.4)?

The oil gauge is calibrated in Bar units same as mine here in Canada. Just thinking in print - 1 bar is about 14 PSI - My gauge fluctuates between 2.5 and just over the 3 when the engine is hot.

When I start up cold the needle sits near 3.5

From what I understand about your noise it must be in the valve train. If you remove the valve cover and run the engine at idle speed, you will be able to tell if any of the rocker arms/pushrods are loose. (watch out for oil flying around) While the engine is running, place your finger on one end of the rocker arm and you will feel the play if it is there. You might even find any loose ones before you start the engine depending on the position the engine stoped at. Try to wiggle each pushrod up and down with your fingers.

Depending on your experience and your thurst for adventure - this might be a job for a mechanic / shop.
