The other day I test drove a 98 93 convertible. The car has 60,000 miles on it and runs great but I noticed the 5 speed manual is very hard both up and down shifting, 3rd gear in particular. The Dealer said that all Saab gearboxes are pretty fussy but once the driver finds the right RPM range they shift fine. Is this true or is the dealer trying to unload a lemon?

Saab trannies shift just like any other trannies. The clutch can be considered heavy, though. But the lever itself is quite normal.
