Styling your rides?DemoX 07-08-2004, 06:28 PM Hi.. I was wondering if you guys do the same to your cars as they do in TFaTF and 2F2F? i mean regarding to styling... Cheers 90Stangjc 07-08-2004, 06:56 PM Yes, the Fast and the Furious was by far, one of the best movies i have ever seen. I have a 1990 Mustang GT and i try to soup it up just like the cars in the Fast and the Furious. I have put NOS on my car (about a 400 shot). I also have a Stand Alone Fuel Managment System or SAFMS for short, a cold air intake (which added 35 rwhp), and 18'' High Performance Apexi N1 muffler (the bigger the better right?). That near 2 foot muffler added 130 rwhp. I also love to go to the desert and race on the dirt, run a 10 second quarter mile when i hit my nos, and not even break the tires loose with my 800 horsepower motor. Yes, the 2fast 2furious movies was the second best movies i have ever seen, cuuuuuz. I do know that if i had a eclipse, it could NOT beat a 450 horsepower Yanko Camaro without cheating, but it would smoke a 500 horse Dodge Viper on the freeway (hell those vipers only run around 180 mph top-end, that aint shit). In reverse my car (still pretending i have a eclipse, nah lets go with a evo) will do over 85 mph. I can go down the interstate and pass cars that are doing around 75mph and you know what? FUCK the rev-limiter, i can turn 15,000 rpms if i want to. Also the 2f2f movie made me think about getting a 16 speed transmission like the one on the skyline at the first of the movie. Just imagine if you were going at 8,000 rpms, then you could drop it down 10 gears, and hit the NOS....HELL YEAH! P.S.-To those of you that have never seen the fast and furious productions, bless you for not choosing that path, and disregard what you just read. Oh shit, you were talking about styling anyway....hmmm, uh well disregard this anyway. 93rollaracer 07-08-2004, 07:04 PM i think i've spent maybe $100 on visual mods (interior neons to get people to race me). the rest goes into the engine..there's absolutely no point in making your car look fast if it doesn't really go fast IMHO xyfalconsrock 07-08-2004, 09:16 PM 90stangjc has said everything i was always thinking. A Saleen mustang getting beaten by 2 jap imports with about 300Hp. A Dodge Viper with 505Hp being out run by 2 Jap imports. Yenko camaro at top speed being matched by some rice at only 150mph??:eek7: And in that movie when 2 cars are side by side there always seems to be that extra bit of pedal left so they can fly past their opponent :screwy::nono: But in pure contrast u have the original Gone In Sixty Seconds, u cant get more real than that movie.73' Mustang still drives after hitting power pole at 80mph. gigglesnirt 07-08-2004, 10:07 PM jesus you have gotta be kidding me, people actually think people make their cars look like that shit in the movies?! DemoX i would just go to a streetrace were you live, you'll be able to see the cars, and how they look, if your afraid of getting caught, park your car about a mile down the road, and ride a moped there, it werked for me, but i did it because i didn't have a car. lol Ultimate X 07-08-2004, 10:33 PM well if your one of us but look like one of them u can make good money smokin ricers :p all u have to do is cover yourself in neon Raz_Kaz 07-08-2004, 10:48 PM Depends on whther you look at the cars at the track or car shows The track will most certanly have a lot of various cars with different set-ups. You can learn about several ways of enhancing the performance of your vehicule At a car show, it's mostly cosmetics you see. You wil see some of the nicest looking cars out there. They invest their money into making their car look unique from others. N.B. That some mods at either car or the track will not necessarily be street legal Hope that answers the question  Polygon 07-08-2004, 11:19 PM This has to be the funniest question I've heard in a long time. However, I can see why some people might think most of us actually modify our cars like that cosmetically. Also, to be truthful, some do. As for my car, it is completely stock at the moment but all I have planned for the exterior are some HID headlights or at least some Silverstars, 17" wheels, 225x45 17" tires, Stoptech brake system, coilovers that will lower the car about an inch in the front and a half an inch in the back, I am having the car painted silver, the side view mirrors will be painted to match the car, the cowl will be painted jet black, the correct moldings will go on, it will have a classy exhaust tip and you won't be able to see the muffler, and it will have a tint job. That is the extent of what you will be able to see on the outside. No body kit, no wings, no clear tail lights, no hood scoop, and no 20" useless rims. Hell the damn thing has a luggage rack on the back that will stay. I do want to keep some of the sleeper value this car has. Ultimate X 07-08-2004, 11:34 PM what no vertical doors christophv 07-09-2004, 08:11 AM Hey, he just asked if we style our cars like in the movies well no xAUTOxRACERx 07-09-2004, 10:04 AM Hey, he just asked if we style our cars like in the movies well no Im with this guy! :naughty: Polygon 07-09-2004, 10:31 AM what no vertical doors Ohh, I forgot about those. :iceslolan 209 neon 07-09-2004, 10:55 AM well your original question is do we style our cars like the guys in the f&f and part 2 in regards to what................ body graphics, huge spoilers that have no purpose but to weight down your car, and the underglows...................... its the movies, they base their stuff off of us and blow it out of proportion get it.............. turbo2nr 07-09-2004, 12:00 PM i like the sleeper look, black rims, lowered, and a nice lip and ill call it a day.. 1 Ultimate X 07-09-2004, 12:25 PM im thinking of customizing my car but not with huge spoilers and enough neon to give me radiation poisonin 65Fstbk 07-09-2004, 12:57 PM Hi.. I was wondering if you guys do the same to your cars as they do in TFaTF and 2F2F? i mean regarding to styling... Cheers Nah... the most I'll do is repaint the car and paint some silver LeMans stripes (which is the normal look for the Shelby mustangs). Other than that, my front apron, my momo seats and autometer gauges (which I'm installing this weekend) are the only flashy things on the car. I don't have plans for any other show stuff. christophv 07-09-2004, 01:37 PM definitely need dem 22s!! http://www.thedealonwheels.com/mercedesblack.jpg bling seriously, I think a mustang deserves Torque Thrust rims. cu 65Fstbk 07-09-2004, 01:40 PM definitely need dem 22s!! seriously, I think a mustang deserves Torque Thrust rims. cu Yup, for racing I'll buy a set of torque thrust D 15x8 or 9 wheels and put slicks on 'em. I like my halibrand clones from edelbrock for the street though. 209 neon 07-09-2004, 01:58 PM i like the sleeper look, black rims, lowered, and a nice lip and ill call it a day.. 1 sounds JDM to me........ duplox 07-09-2004, 02:07 PM Those edelbrock wheels look damn nice on old stangs. I want a set of 429's for my '69, but they're not cheap! turbo2nr 07-09-2004, 03:12 PM haha my car is anything but jdm ford's aren't jdm for nuthing lolz.. 1 -Jayson- 07-09-2004, 03:25 PM only things i want to do to my car is this, a lip kit, nothing overly showly, my car already has side skirts all i need are the front and back. Prolly just gonna end up getting the factory ones. Maybe some euro tailights if i can get them cheap, i wont pay 200 bucks for flash brake lights. Maybe some interior neons, but they would only work as accent lights, meaning they would be hidden under the dash so u just get a glow. And a TV off ebay for like 85 bucks, cause TV's in cars are just cool. But before all of that i need to save up the 2400 i need for the supercharger. Im at about 1G right now. . .i need a second job. . . Raz_Kaz 07-09-2004, 03:41 PM Honestly, I love sleepers...Id take a ugly ass POS over a nice looking car anyday!!! Hypsi87 07-09-2004, 03:53 PM Hi.. I was wondering if you guys do the same to your cars as they do in TFaTF and 2F2F? i mean regarding to styling... Cheers Well I don't worry too much about styling..... when your 7+ carlengths ahed of the other cars, who the hell is going to be looking at your car? My theory is that if they can't see it, then why make it look pretty? BullDog71ss 07-09-2004, 03:59 PM All this rice talk makes me want to go out and get the biggest rice wing I can find for my car. If you're going to spend money to fix up a car you plan to race, then spend it on the damned motor and suspension. The 2f2f look is getting old fast. Ultimate X 07-09-2004, 04:30 PM well if still wanna style like the movie atleast get something that helps like a bodykit for aerodynamics NSX-R-SSJ20K 07-10-2004, 07:00 AM people in england actually try to make their cars look all fast and furious. IE the silly twats that have FNF Supra clones burnM 07-11-2004, 03:32 AM I've had a few POS sleepers that went fast. I decided that this time around, I wanted something that looked good as well. I've just repainted my car and sort of "caught the bug" for adding things to it. The way I see it, the car is fast enough for now, (maybe not for long) but it needed something for appearance to make ME happy. So far what I've done is a repaint, replace all trim and pinstripes, put chrome rings on the stealies, deleted the hood ornament, blacked out the grille and added headlight covers. What I plan to do next is tint the windows (not too dark) and add ventshades to the side windows. I'm getting sick of cracking a window open when it's raining to get some air, and getting soaked for it. I personally think that I haven't gone too far with appearance mods, but some may argue otherwise. But, it's my car, and I'm not going to tell anyone what to do with their ride, other than to maintain it. Although I don't see the point of a foot tall rear spoiler, if it makes you happy, do it. Just don't be surprised if someone snickers when you round a corner..... :2cents: PWRDbyUNCLEbens 07-12-2004, 08:31 PM Most likely you won't find many paul walker's in the forum where people actually race their cars. The cars in F&F are extremely glammed up more like show cars, not cars you'd typically find at a real street racing event. Ultimate X 07-13-2004, 01:30 AM i wish some one would find paul walker in a f&f car and take him gettin smoked :p vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
