My girlfriends car was doing the same thing last summer. The drain was just plugged by a rock. It is nothing fancy, just a piece of rubber hose that sticks out of the firewall and points down. It is located on the passenger side of the firewall behind the engine. Her car has the 3.5L and I believe that the drain was visible from the top. With the engine cool, I was able to reach down and gently pull it out. It might take some effort, but you shouldn't break anything . I recall that it was fairly easy to remove, but initially I thought I broke something after I got it out. It just plugs into the firewall somewhat like a grommet. It drains from around the blower motor. Unclog it and your problem is solved. Obviously, make sure the drain points down after you reinstall it.

If you do have the 3800 engine you should still be able to reach the drain. If you can't do this, remove the blower motor (located just below the glovebox) and you should have direct access to it. You will need a 5.5mm or 7/32" socket on a 1/4" ratchet to do this. It is tight, but not that hard.

I hope this helps. :)
