Swapped engine out & it won't start '94 Geo

I just replaced my engine, hooked everything back up exactly how I took it off, etc. Go to start the car, and nothing. All the power-headlights, signals, air, alarms, etc, come on.

I thought maybe it might be the starter, but if a starter is bad, won't you hear some sort of clicking sound coming from the starter body as it is trying to turn over? Or could the timing be so far off, that it won't turn over?

Any suggestions?

Fisrt thing to do is check that you have a constant 12 volts at the starter main terminal (the one directly from the battery, key off)....I can't imagine why this would not, but hey...check it first. Once you know you've got a good connection to the battery, check the small wire on the starter solenoid. This wire should only have 12 volts to it in the "cranking" position...from the ignition switch. If you don't have voltage on this small terminal while the key is in the start position, there is a problem with the wiring/relays/switch somewhere in the circuit. If you DO have voltage on this small wire in the start position, then the starter is more than likely bad.

This will sound dumb, but I did it when I swapped my engine in a '94. I forgot the small wire underneath the large wire at the starter. Worth looking at.
