I seem to be having a problem with my gas peddal. It on occassion will stick and I have to romp on it to get the car to move... Of course the dealer can not find the problem. any one else having this problem? it is a 2001 Intruigue.

I'm guessing that you notice it most when you are at a stop. Do you need to overcome the pedal sticking at idle and make the vehicle surge after you do? My girlfriend's '99 Intrigue GL 3.5L was doing this. Her throttle plate was just carboned up and was sticking shut at idle. I highly doubt that the dealer would overlook this, but it's worth a shot. This is an easy fix. Go to an autoparts store and buy a can of throttlebody/air intake cleaner. Don't use carburetor cleaner because it will harm your fuel injectors and oxygen sensors. With the engine off, remove the air intake hose from the throttlebody. Move the throttle plate with your hand and spray the cleaner around it. The black stuff is the carbon. Keep some shop towels handy because the carbon will probably run out of the throttlebody and onto the transmission so be ready for it. Don't rub anything, I found that it is best just to let the spray do the work. Wait a minute or two for all of the cleaner to evaporate. Failure to do this may cause serious engine damage due to a violent backfire. Reinstall the air intake hose and drive. I hope this helps.

My '00 3.5, 58k seems prepared to die when I put it in drive for the first time after starting it; especially in the morning. It almost stalls, then it jumps to life. But not when the car has been running. I wonder if this is an alternator/electrical issue? Any ideas?

I have that exact same problem with my gas pedal sticking. It seems to only occur when i make that first initial shift out of park. I was told my throttle body needed cleaning, did this help?

I cleaned my throttle body and added a Valvoline Synthetic engine cleaner fuel additive. It runs better now than before I cleaned it and doesn't hesitate. Throttle body is hard to clean thoroughly though because of its location and because the plate makes it difficult to clean on the inside.
