How much do you pay for an alignment?LX98Civic 01-27-2002, 09:23 PM How much do you pay for an alignment? I'm looking to get my LX's alignment done either tomm (Monday) or Tuesday. Just wondering what you guys pay for an alignment. Do I need a 4 wheel or just a 2 wheel? I lowered my car / got wheels and figured it's time now. This will be the first alignment with 41k on the car :o Also, looking for recommnedations for a shop in Orlando to do the work :) madtownhonda 01-27-2002, 09:25 PM $40-50 for the front end LX98Civic 01-27-2002, 09:28 PM Originally posted by madtownhonda $40-50 for the front end So, what is the difference between a 2 and 4 wheel alignment? Is a 4 wheel even possible on our Hondas? nemesls_2000 01-27-2002, 10:13 PM $40 for a 4 tire balance & alignment. Don't need a balance since the wheels were put on less than a month ago :p Maybe 1k on the wheels now. ....or maybe I should go get them balanced since it's a lifetime rotation and balance from Discount tire :D That would probably be better, then go get the alignment done  So, you say 4 the other says the front end.... Opinions, opinions, opinions  ric 01-27-2002, 10:34 PM dude seriously get the 4 wheel alignment. if its been 41k i would imagine you would need it no matter what especially since your lowered. christ even if you drove on marble floors everywhere i would have waited that long. expect anywhere from 40-90 depending on where you live and where you go, all i know is you pay for what you get so make sure wherever you go the person doing it has been doing it for a while. good alignments are becoming a rare thing from what ive seen. mosty of these pep boys ones are never right or they dont give a shit. not to mention i have seen some machines with the wrong specs. unfortunatly i take mine to the dealer cause i know the specs are right on thier machines and i know the guy who does it knows what he's doing. i wish they would let me do my own for half the price......i need to get another job in a garage, the fringe benefits are so nice... Swonder67 01-27-2002, 10:36 PM I dunno if this is a problem in Florida where you are, but in Mass, not all shops can do alignments on lowered cars because they can't get on the lifts. My friend lowered his accord, and there was only one place in our area that could do alignments on lowered cars. ric 01-27-2002, 10:50 PM Originally posted by Swonder67 I dunno if this is a problem in Florida where you are, but in Mass, not all shops can do alignments on lowered cars because they can't get on the lifts. CLOWNS.... besides alignment racks are flat ramp racks and if the initial slope is to great you just stick some boards at the beginning to ease it on, its what i had to do everytime i put my civic on the rack. as a matter of fact i could only use the alignment rack at work to do anything under my car cause it was so low.. tell them to stop being fuckin paranoid and just do it. LX98Civic 01-27-2002, 11:00 PM Discount tire (DT) did recommend this one shop. They said that is where they send their customers. I was told by DT that they are expensive, but know their $hit. I believe when I called months back it was going to be like $70. I'll call tommorrow and get the price again. It's got to be done..... changedagame108 01-28-2002, 12:14 AM 4 wheel computerized alignment should be about 60 bucks. RevHappy Cowboy® 01-28-2002, 01:02 AM I paid $65 Cdn at the local Acura dealer last month for front wheel alignment. 98civicex 01-28-2002, 11:09 AM when i lowered my car, i took it to a well known alignment shop (he does excellent custom work) and the alignment cost me $110. but that included aligning my front end and rear on 2-1/2" sprint springs. no camber kit needed :) but like was mentioned in the earlier posts: you get what you pay for! good luck LX98Civic 01-28-2002, 11:14 AM Originally posted by 98civicex when i lowered my car, i took it to a well known alignment shop (he does excellent custom work) and the alignment cost me $110. but that included aligning my front end and rear on 2-1/2" sprint springs. no camber kit needed :) but like was mentioned in the earlier posts: you get what you pay for! good luck My dad was telling me a few weeks ago that the shop should adjust the camber when doing the alignment. Said the camber, toe and some other $h!t. I tried to tell pops that I have to shim out the camber in the rear myself one day. Anyone got the link on how to add the washers for the rear camber??
