ok so its not what it seems, i lied i didnt kill a bmw 5 series...
my popz did :evillol:

we were on our way back from conn. on the i-95 we are in the 04 maxima btw (se) and this 5 series is playing with my dad for a good 10 miles we are both crusing at about 80, im the the front seat my mom, aunt, and sis are in the back.. so my dad was like ok lets see what this maxima has it does catch 160 on the dash.. so the road is open he rolls up to the side of the 5 series both of them slow to around 65ish.. then they take off the 5-series takes off a little befor us. so my dad floors it hits the red-line in fourth and then gets into fifth, (5sp auto) at around 100mph we were head to head with the 5-series, he kept pulling with the max untill 130mph by then the 5-series is about 2 cars behind us.. he slows down and the 5 series fly-by and then slows down also..
man i gotta say that car pullls effortless with 5people in the car and the a/c working full blast, no struggles in power its always there and always wants to go faster.. man i was soo proud of my dad. hehe one of the few times.. i knew he love it he had a big grin on his face hehe..

now if he would only stop complaing when i race! :icon16: damm parents what can u do..

Whats in the Maxima, cuz a stock Maxima killing a M5=BS...unless the M5 was just toying and not racing, or the driver had no idea in hell how to drive an M5...

Sorry, my bad, between four beers, fireworks, loud music, and flashbacks to wars I was never in, thought that it said M5....anyways, what kinda 5 was it? If it was a 525, then I'm not suprised.

I'm confused about the names now, turbo2nr said it was a 5-series (which is called a 5er in germany) and then there was blah unless the M5 blah -

now, M5 is the powered up version here
the 5er or 5-series is a normal heavy limousine which isn't hard to outhandle

so, why couldn't it be? There are small 5-series diesel, they don't pull hard anyways.

Well, there isn't a diesel here, so if it was a fairly late model it was probably either the 2.8 liter 6, the 3.0 liter 6, or the 4.4 (I think?) liter 8. If it was a 6, decent kill, if it was an 8, that's worth bragging about. Nice kill either way.

there's a 530d diesel 6cyl
the gas engines start at 520i, which is a pretty small and weak one it think.
And yep, largest ist 545i with a V8.

We dont have diesles over here in the states. And we have a more full version of the serries. They all have different engines and what not. So if it was a 525, then I'm not suprised. But if it was a 540, then its something to brag about. In the US, the BMWs are designated by series then engine size.

For example, 330 mean 3 serries, 3.0 liter engine. Then there are other minor designation, for example, a 325ci is a 3 serries, 2.5 liter engine, coup. 330xi, 3 serries, 3.0 liter, all wheel drive sedan. If you look around on google, there are plenty of websites that offer a full explanation of the codes.

Like SpaceManSpiff said, if it was one of the new models (chasis code=e60), then it was either a 525i (2.5 liter, same motor as my car), and I wouldnt be suprised, 530i (3.0 liter, would give the Maxima a run for its money, probably a drivers race), or a 545i, and if it was a 545i, then he wasn't racing, he was just toying with you.

If it was a pre E60, then it was one of many posibilities, such as a 528e, 533i, or 535i. Again, with any of the 3.x liters, it is most liekly a drivers race, and I'm not sure about the 528e, never ridden in one.

The only diesel we have in the us are the 524td, and I have never seen one of those.

Again, a google search will yeild many websites that offer info on BMW chassis codes (E**), engine codes (S** or M**) and letter designations (i, e, x, c, etc...)

Yeah as I said, the 545i features a V8

there are also lame GTS Skylines, know what I mean :)
(I'd still trade my car for a GTS :icon16:)

im guessing it was a 6clyd 5 series.. it had some speed, nice deep dish rims, dual exhaust, not sure on the number of the 5 eries tho..

CassiesMan

Well, if it had dual exhausts, nice wheels....it sounds like a stock M5, and in that case, he was just playing. Ive seen in person those things beat a Cammaro SS, walk on high end speedy imports with minor tunning, and have a video of a stock M5 loosing to a heavily modded STi by less than a length. If it was an M5, then he was playing.

The other option is that it was a modded 545i. Again, one of those, with just an exhaust, would toast a stock Maxima. My bet is that it was a low end 5, maybe a 525, with an exhaust and wheels. In that case, then yeah, good kill.

It hurts to see a fellow BMW loose, but then again, we always get our revenge (ex: I loose to a modded 350Z, he looses to a new 645ci).

i mean it had stock dual exhaust.. no aftermarket.. and deffinatly not a m5 no badges or m5 body styling to go wid it..

Dual tips, or like, one exit on one side of the car, and one on the opposite?

turbo2nr
