I'm looking for a new car and have been intrested in the new sentras (2000+) I like the style of the car, but the wimpy 1.8 or 1.6 liter (Can't remember if it's 1.6 or 1.8) engine. I need at leat a 2 liter engine, less than two is just too small for me. But anyways, I'm going to buy like a 2000 SE probably more like an 01 SE, I like the sport suspention, gearing, engine and the feel of it in general.

But all of my friends have been telling me if your going to get a Sentra get an SE-R, preferably a SE-R Spec V. I have looked at several Spec V's and I like it's 2.5 engine and the limited slip, but I haven't got the money for the Spec V.

Also I was wondering is the Spec V's full name "SE-R Seec V" or is the SE-R and Spec V diffrent, someone is tring to tell me that the SE and SE-R are the same cars, and the the SE-R is just an options package or something like that. I don't think that's right, but I don't know a lot about Nissan cars.

Thanks.

Incorrect.

The SE-R comes with an automatic transmission 2.5 liter 4cyl engine producing 165 horsepower.

The SE-R spec V comes with a 6 speed manual transmission a 2.5 liter engine producing 177 horsepower.
