I have a 2000 Grand Cherokee that I have to add coolant to every few weeks. One time i did see water leaking out from a rubber tube that sticks out about 2 inches from the fire wall. It is to the left of the starter. Does anyone know what that tube is?

Thanks.

I have the same problem. The coolant on mine is coming out from under the engine. I don't know what you call it but there is a gasket type seal and it is dripping from this area. It is a very slow leak but you have to fill up the radiator every week or so. Maybe this will help someone identify our problem.

I have this problem right now and now almost overnight the gaskets just dripped out all of my fuid overnight....any ideas? Is this normal for the gaskets to go bad like this in this lower area under the engine????

I don't know much about vehicles but I took it into the shop and they told me it needed a water pump. I didn't see how a leak could be caused by a faulty water pump but I let them do it anyway ( about $100 ) and now it doesn't leak anymore. Maybe there are some seals around the water pump that go bad???

Ground control to major tom, There is a small hole at the bottom of the waterpump that leakes out coolant when the pump bearing seal goes bad. That was your leak.

I am hoping you are telling me that I HAD to have the water pump replaced in order to fix that leaky seal. :)
