Problem putting in 693.5i Infinitys

Ok.... first off.... I bought my first car last winter, 97' Grand Cherokee Limited. After getting it, I eventually blew all 4 of the Infinity Gold speakers that came with the car (Infinity Gold System comes standard on Limited's). I then, after reviewing many different speakers, ended up buying 2 pair of Infinity 693.5i's for my car. The auction told me the speakers were 6 1/2's... which fit all 4 of my car's speaker hole's. They are 6X9's however, and I'm in a bind : \. My question is, can you cut in the door for 6X9's where the 6 1/2's are... or is there an easier way? If anyone can help me, I would GREATLY appreciate it : ). Any suggestions at all would be very very helpful.

Thanks ALOT!,

The easier way is to go get 6.5" speakers, 6X9 suck anyway. There is no way i would try cutting larger speaker hole to accomadate the 6X9. Most people try to go the other and by adapters to fit 6.5" in place 6X9 since you get (in my opinion) better sound from 6.5" speakers. Good Luck

I'd return the speakers (they were misrepresented to you)... if you're looking for Infinity's - check out the 62.5i's - they're 6.5" (also come with 6.75" adapters - installed no prob in my 96 ZJ and sound great)...
